This goal for Gaborik, and the last time Kopitar scored, neither guy scored on the actual shot they took. The goalie for Buffalo knocked it in, and this rebound went off Suter. It wouldn't be so sad if those weren't the only 2 goals those guys score.

Oh and we'd have to keep Bill Ranford. He'd be the one I'd keep 100% from the staff.

Sutter too

his coaching works, you can't think that roster on paper is worthy of a playoff spot

it's more Dean that i'm having troubles with

and he seems to have lost his confidence and paranoid about offers, trades, roster moves, etc

Time moved by our slow plodding system 2 years ago and Sutter and staff seem to have no idea how to evolve. DL is as much to blame with his love for grinders.

We all knew this day was coming, it's the price they are paying for keeping the 2012 team together to win the 2014 cup. I don't see this team being contenders again until most of the contracts expire in years...

Sekera, Lucic, a loss in a must win game in Edmonton, a blown 3-0 lead at home to the Jets for the division, 1 playoff win, and 5 playoff games in the last 2 years. If anything, he's lost confidence in the players on this team to actually be able to get things done. That, and the contracts/production ratio for Brown and Gaborik make doing anything almost impossible.

completely agree with all this, nice summary

i'd add: Richards, Voynov, and Stoll fiasco too

Wow, they started forcing themselves to go to the net in the 2nd half of that period. I guess everyone is not listening to Sutter anymore, since he tells them to stick to the boards and get shots blocked.

Yeah what was that? Showing signs of life

Don't stop complaining until our team shooting percentage is at 8.5% or above.
We never have an overall good percentage but we're much lower than normal at 7.85%.

Oh, I won't ever stop as long as I'm watching other teams play as well. It's so damn easy for them. Straight shots from above the circles going in, miracle bounces, etc. guys shooting 15% like it's no problem while a dude like Kopi is under 5, it's just mind boggling, and makes me think of 2012, which is about the only reason I'm holding out hope at this point...latent giant ready to explode

Richards for sure. Lombardi believed in the myth of Mike Richards, even as a 4th line center, and it completely burned him. Voynov, that's just out of nowhere. I don't think he cares too much about the Stoll thing. That was after the season, it's not like Stoll was coming back, and two other teams gave him a job afterwards. Maybe since it just made it all into a trifecta, but as a stand alone event, is the Stoll thing that big of a deal?

And let's be honest, if Richards could still play, do we even know about the border issue?

Gaborik and Muzzin in the same game? That's crazy.

Going to the net. A simple, but tried and true concept in hockey. Just have to want to fight through the muck in the middle to do it.

Went to have some quality time with the wife when it was 2-0 Minnesota, come back and it's 3-2 LA. Maybe I should go back in the other room...
