Based on the attitudes from twitter and interviews, I can only hope they're just looking past this one to the playoffs. Dealing with fatigue, avoiding big hits/injuries, etc. Penner's tweet is hilarious, Carter's "when we play our game, they can't play with us" confidence is pretty awesome..but I hope the cockiness gets backed up for the big games.

It's not unusual for teams out of the race to whoop the teams in the race at the end of the year though...happens every year. Heck, Kings have crapped the bed at the end of the last FEW seasons!

Just crossing my fingers and talking myself into not being worried :P

Edit: also, everyone may want to take a day or two vacation away from the main board after the tweets, booing (no clue what was going on there, but both adrian dater and yahoo picked up on it in a negative light), etc. We're already hated...that's not gonna help!

I'd say a majority were booing because the play was blown dead, and didnt know the guy was injured. To have both adrian dater and yahoo pick up on it in a negative light and to infer that the fans were booing at the injury is ridiculous.

Bailey said he was holding up an avalanche pennant and wasn't aware that the goalie was hurt.

Carter, Richards, and Quick are the only ones I'm happy with after that game. Great to get two points, but we gotta stop playing 20 minutes

Gotta like how Voynov tried to take over in OT as well. He was out there making things happen.

This is the part that gets me...Dater is a fairly respected journalist, no? Pretty irresponsible.

Just more fuel for the hate though...no one is gonna bother to use critical thinking on that one.

We'll just take our two points and move on to a big game

I love it!

So many bitter members on the main board.

Dater is the Avs hockey writer for the Denver Post. He's what Helene Elliot is to the Kings.

If anyone wants to call KingsTalk and win, the answer is Rob Scuderi. Born 12-30-1978, the date of Lessard's 2nd shutout.

That was easy enough to figure out even without the dates. I was driving home from the game listening to all the clowns pick players that were born in the mid-80s. People, THINK!

Like others mentioned, my only gripe and concern is how they are easing off at times. Honestly though i think they are doing this 100% as a team across the board, because they have and they know it - the ability to play at another level and beyond.

I don't think this is a team that is playing lazy, or losing focus. I think they are playing to conserve energy and avoid injuries, while knowing the REAL season is due to begin shortly.

Last night was an example of this. Jump all over COL at the start, sit back and then make a major push the last 5-10 minutes of the game.

I just hope if this is the case they don't wait until game 1 of the playoffs to ramp it up. Start with 2-3 games remaining to set the tone and get the mechanics at 100%.

As a team they are playing soft to me like they are avoiding the possibility of anyone getting hurt. The past few weeks we aren't seeing the big hits from any of the known suspects.

Beyond this i would like to see Kopi and DB's to start producing some pts, as well as, some 3rd and 4th line scoring support. Right now there is too much reliance on Carts scoring and not enough depth scoring.

I was at the game last night and booed when the Avs goalie went down. I didn't even see him fall and was pissed they they blew the play dead when the Kings were generating a lot of good chances. Once I saw the Avs trainer come out, I realized what had happened. Everybody clapped in respect when he was being helped off the ice.

As for the main board, who gives a ****? Seriously. They're going to find any reason they can to hate us, so get used to it. That's the price tag that comes with such a dominating Stanley Cup victory.
