It was and still is. Kane isn't worth that much. You're talking about giving up a top 6 forward and a top 4 defenseman and a first, for a good winger. The Kings didn't give that much up for Carter, and Carter is twice the player Kane is.
Do you even watch Kane play? He's on a **** team. How do you expect a player to light up the league when his team is ****.
Even if it's an overpayment, you're getting a younger player and a left winger.
