While he hasn't been great for chunks of this season, i would caution against anything drastic like converting him to forward. Development/progression of young d-men are rarely linear. I think people got a bit blinded by the fact he had what was admittedly a fantastic first foray into the NHL slotting in during the playoffs. It's not always that easy.
