The rebuild started when Toffoli was traded and that was February 2022 so a year and 8 months ago. KH was named GM in january 2022. It will be 2 years the rebuild started at the deadline 2024.

Fair enough. I was thinking 2021 for whatever reason. Yes 1.5 years.

I don t blame KH for anything MB did just stating the truth. Their two key players are in their D+5/7 and they traded for two other players in their D+5, two in their D+4. If we expect the same rebuild timeline for a team rebuilding from scratch and the Habs who have this players close to entering their prime, then why not tear everything apart ? It does not make sense to have Suzuki Dach Caufield if you plan to compete in 7 years as if you were drafting them next year…
