I don't even want to know all of the things those two women did that night.
They both have huge beaming smiles on their faces while Ovi and Markie look like zombies. What do you think happened? The girls talked to the guys about shoes while painting their nails.

4 penalties? 4 giveaways? 4 times falling down?
That would be a good night for today's Gally

No one cares
I am watching these other team top picks and seeing such promise while we celebrate if our picks can see the ice or do backwards cross overs.
See NY Rangers. I just read the Lafreniere thread both there and on the main board and it is mostly nasty lol. The majority of posters believe that he will be known as one of the biggest 1OA busts of all time and many don't have kind words for Kaako either.

So which Habs line will look the worst tonight?

Pearson/Newhook/Slaf was starting to find its groove in the 3rd last game.
Evans's has looked fine since the start of the season.

The other two are new, at least Monahan was freed, but now Suzuki has the shackles...

2 and a half years in and we still have no real 1C. Chicago got a generational one in one season. Every other rebuilding team has one as well.
2 and a half years?

The rebuild started when Toffoli was traded and that was February 2022 so a year and 8 months ago. KH was named GM in january 2022. It will be 2 years the rebuild started at the deadline 2024.

It's ok you can just root against Cooley and Michkov like me. I am not bitter at all about walking away from a 1st and 5th overall pick without a 60+ point player. Getting a #1 RD is nice at least, but lots of the one's around the league were not drafted top 5. Superstar forwards, very few outside the top 5 in comparison.

Really sucks looking at Thompson, Stutzle, and Larkin in our division on the rebuilding clubs we are competing with. Boston are basically the only team I don't have any envy towards in our division. They're close to blowing up and don't have the pieces for a deep playoff run. They're 3-0 now but have beaten three teams that will finish bottom 10.

Boston is not remotely close to blowing up.

Man did people look at their lineup?

MacAvoy 25
Lindholm 29
Carlo 26

Swayman 24
Ullmark 30

This is a very solid top 3 that is still in their prime with a good young goalie all under reasonable contract.

Pasternak is only 27 and is a top 10 player. Anyone who believe a team with a top 10 player with elite skills, a solid top 3 on defense in their prime and a good goalie duo will implode is totally 100% out for launch.

They'll have to adresse the center line and winger depth but it's not like the rest of the lineup is bad.

Yes and no. Key players are mostly in their D+4/5 (even D+7 for Suzuki). We can t consider it as a 2nd year of a traditional rebuild, esp when management trades for Dach / Newhook / Barron to accelerate the rebuild.

So you'll blame KH for what MB did? Cause i'm sure KH was named GM 1 year and 10 months ago.

To be fair, the 2 high Rangers picks we use to show not only Habs f*** up their picks badly, were made by the same guys that made our 2 last high picks. It’s not much of a cope.

There's still interesting trends I would like to see sticking......

59.9% in FO, Habs are the 2nd best team in the NHL.
1 goal allowed at 5-on-5, Best team in the NHL
8 goals scored at 5-on-5, ranked 10, but every teams above played 1 or 2 more games.
24.97 hits/60, Leading the NHL
Jonathan Kovacevic is +6, tied for 2nd in the NHL and it's kind of weird considering he has 0 point.
Newhook and Caufield are PPG, let's keep it rolling.

Highly volatile numbers with only 3 games played but let's see!!

Tiny sample size...

But isn't it funny that some, in watching that same small sample size, suggest that MSL lacks technical competency lol

Well....you are right.

Back then, those picks were the consensus picks. They follow ''the list'' and neither of those picks were surprising......but maybe that's also why they stop giving a shit what the consensus picks was.

Don't forget, every list, every scouts, every wannabe scouts....they all had Lafrenière as becoming the best pick that year.

Especially since the numbers are kind of obvious.
Everything is mostly good at 5-on-5
A combination of taking too many penalties while sucking on special teams take care of the rest.

With that many injuries, it's hard to get something rolling.
