For all the advanced stats folks Is there a way to see shot quality? I don’t think this is a case of goalie playing on his head but more the leafs just shot everywhere and a lot of the time they’re not quality shots. I could be wrong so don’t freak out on me lol.

There is, and we generally do very well in that regard.

To my eyes the issue is the way we generate chances. Slow buildup, a lot of individual plays very few quick strike attempts. Ie. we have possession, move the puck well to create a seam or mismatch and Tavares (or whoever) makes a nice move, gets to the slot and takes the shot. It’s a great chance but Tavares has had the puck on his stick for a while, the goalie had lots of time to come out and get set, it’s going to take a perfect shot to score.

NHL goalies are good, even on great looks if they are set and at the top of the crease they will stop most shots.

They seem to miss a lot of fairly obvious things when we play.

You can let a slash or crosscheck go, you have to call closing the hand on the puck and delay of game penalties. Those aren't up for interpretation.

A lot of shots that hit Shesterkin in the crest is because he's that good at getting his body in position for the puck to hit him in the crest.

All I know is Rielly got robbed. That was 100% goalie turning into Hasek.

I haven't watched a game yet (am hoping to hold firm until I see results in the playoffs, but I'll probably crack.) Its been nice not having to watch Sportsnet though.

Talk about the bumper position, why not stick Marner behind the net ala Gretzky and see what he can do. Nobody is Gretzky obviously but this PP should be piling up goals and it's such a damn struggle for them to score

Leafs have 41 shot attempts - 30 are low danger, 10 medium danger and just 1 high danger.
