I agree its strange Cody is on the bench instead of Prout. I'd also call up Paliotta.

JJ - Savard
Murray - Goloubef
Tyutin - Paliotta

Anybody still believe the 15-1-1 finish that probably cost us Hanifin (who signed and last I saw was in the NHL) was very important to the on-going success of the franchise?

The biggest conceit on these boards was "All we need is a healthy Murray".

The run at the end of the year may have cost us Hanifin. Or maybe we would have just missed him anyways. Jarmo had Werenski 4th on his list, so it's plausible we would have ended up with him anyways.

Great first period, it all went down from there.

The mentality of this team is fragile right now. We give up that soft goal in the first period and our demeanor changed from dominance and swagger, to doubt and trepidation. 2-0 with confidence, vs 2-1 with doubt and it all went down from there.

The entire defense needs to play with an edge physically, don't worry about taking a penalty or two, but you can't let them camp in front of our goal like that.

Foligno needs to relax a bit and stop trying to do it all himself. Pass the puck man, no end to end heroics required, just relax and trust your team mates.

Joey needs bear down more, but overall I thought he was strong on the puck and creative, hence the 2 assists.

Saad looks great, loved his back check in the 2nd period on a turnover, has a nose for the goal, could have scored 2 goals very easily but for some bad breaks.

11-17-13, love seeing these guys back on a line together, please TR don't blow it and break them up. Matty blocks a shot, limps to the bench while Cam and Dubinsky transition and score on the odd man, THAT IS OUR IDENTITY RIGHT THERE.

I don't like the 4th line, but its a 4th line, whatever.

2nd line, very ineffective, Karlsson is not an NHL caliber player right now, Nick trying to play hero every shift, and Hartsy never sees the puck.

Figure it out TR or you'll be hitting bricks, dueces.

We blew three leads in the game. That's pretty hard to do, and as soon as Ottawa took the lead it felt like the loss was inevitable.

Fire them all and start over.

I think you've got to get Boll out of the lineup. Part of the team's problem is that they've been gassed late in games, and having a guy getting less than six minutes of ice time means that the others have to play that much more.

This is a good observation. For instance, the Canadiens (who are 4-0) don't have a single forward playing 20 minutes a game, and also don't have any playing less than 10:55 per game.

Boll is in the lineup less because we are always behind in games. It's hard to put him out there when you have no lead

We noted the insertion of the fourth line late in the third period after having been nailed to the bench for most of it. We decided that's when HCTR gave up.

That is one expensive white flag

Also, how many times did our own players run into each other and take themselves out of the play? At stretches it looked like a high school team

Shocker...we hand out some fat contracts and NTC's and things go to ****. Look at 2013-2014 (playoffs). Bob on a bridge deal. Players trying to earn contracts. They had heart. Now, most everyone is paid except the crap defenders and we suck. Typical Columbus country club results.

Is anyone else surprised Cmac didn't start one of the first four games?

Bob needs to sit for 1 or 2 and if nothing else take a break from the torture that is goal tending right now for the CBJ. Maybe if he watches the game play out from the bench he'll see something, or at least reset his head and shake off the PTSD he has right now after the first 4.

He'll probably see Prout/Connauton leave CMac out to dry like a piece of wet laundry and then walk away from hockey forever.

I think you've got to get Boll out of the lineup. Part of the team's problem is that they've been gassed late in games, and having a guy getting less than six minutes of ice time means that the others have to play that much more. I'd get Rychel on the second line and move Bourque to the fourth.

Honestly though I just want to see something, anything being done. Talk about knee-jerk reactions all you want, but when someone hits your knee with a hammer, your leg is supposed to move a little.

The reason the 4th line doesn't get much ice time, isn't because they would fall over tired, it's because we've had a lead for all of about 3 minutes this season. You roll 4 lines when you are winning, not when you are scrambling to come back. Just like every other year and every other team in the history of the league, you will never lose consistently or be a "bad team" because of the 4th line. That is about 12th on the list of issues this team has.

1-6 defense
7. bob
8. joey trying to be too cute, not working hard enough the whole game
9. Foligno, dumb penalties, trying to be cute, trying to do too much
10. richards- implementing systems we don't do well, the 1-3-1 and I'm sure just our general game scheme doesn't seem to bode well for our team. I also question his bench decisions, he doesn't seem to get the matchups we need, we never get our top line against someone else's 4th line, yet ours was out there against the Sens last night a few times.
11. Karlsson should be in the minors, I would rather have Gallant here, at least he will hit and fight which is what our team needs to do more of and not think we have enough skill to play with these skill teams.
12. 4th line

Well, the important thing is jumping to that conclusion 36 hours in advance.

What precedent do we have to believe otherwise? Richards has made no changes through 4 brutal defensive games save for playing Prout with Tyutin for a shift or two last night, which also led to a goal against. In my opinion, not a far leap to make considering what we have seen so far.

I agree with all of this. Bringing up Boll isn't a bad thing, he is an issue. But he's not at the top of the list.

And the dumb penalties aren't limited to Foligno. We've been top 5 in PIMs for a couple years now. It is an epidemic.

Maybe move Jenner back to C so we can scratch Karlsson? Reunite Jenner and Rychel?

Saad Joey Hartnell
Rychel Jenner Foligno
Calvert Dubi Cam

Not our biggest problem obviously compared to the D.
