You come to expect a team that’s trailing the game and holds the puck for 90 seconds with little time left in the 2nd period without getting a decent chance, to have their momentum broken by a silly penalty like that one, and probably to give up a goal before the end of the period that completely breaks them. There’s something about this game that just seems to work like this.
