Struble is capable of. Losing Suzuki though….

Laine still hasn’t found his 5 on 5 game yet and hasn’t scored a PP goal in a few games now. The PP hasn’t been producing like it was. I’m not sure he’s really had much impact in 3 or 4 games. Still, I’d rather he was playing.

He did have an impact but sometimes, you can't just measure it by goals.

For example, that GWG by fach against Vegas. Hill was so concerned about getting across for Laine that he ended up allowing a softie on dach's stick.

He is a hard guy to knock off the puck and he has the poise to hold on which caters to extended zone time.

Yeah, add Demidov next season and we probably don't miss a beat with a Laine injury. Where we feel it the most is on D when we have a scratch.

We need to add legit depth on the backend in the offseason imo. Reinbacher's annoying injury this season continues to rear it's ugly head.
We don’t know whether Reinbacher would have made the team, had he not been injured. They have developing prospects in Laval not ready for the Show, which makes the acquisition of a quality RD with NHL experience, a desirable goal unless they want to keep slotting lefthanded players on the right.

He wouldn't have made the team from the get go, but with how the season has played out he would have got ample opportunity to get looks. We've desperately needed the help, especially on the right side. He couldn't be worse than what we've been working with for most of the season.

I personally think it possible that he could have made a difference, either way the development gain would have been useful.

Reinbacher was the most NHL ready RD prospect at the time of his injury. Hopefully he regains his form quickly

Yesterday was a trap game, but it didn't help the team played like crap. Even if they lose again tonight overall it's still a good road trip, .500. I think most people predicted .500 to be a great thing before it started.

It just sucks that 2 of the games we lost were against the 2 worst teams we played, so it definitely feels like a lost opportunity.

We need a good effort tonight otherwise this game could quickly turn into an embarrassing result.

Montreal is 3 pts out of a playoff spot but also 4 pts out of last. It can go either way.

They should just waive Pezzetta.

I hope Savard is back tonight at least.

Monty? Or Dobes tonight?
Classic telltale sign that a team is still maturing.

The reality is it’s a rebuilding club, the recent hot streak shows that there is potential with the club and that it’s developing.

It’s not much more than that. Even really bad teams can go on heaters.

We’re not “in da mix” at all.

What is meant meant by "in the mix" is that they stay within striking range of a playoff spot. So, yes, they are in the mix for now.

They can be a tough out when fully healthy, but being fully healthy for the whole season is not a practical expectation.

Let’s make sure nobody says anything remotely bad about Slaf or you’ll be lynched. It was pretty funny last night when he whiffed on multiple shots and wasn’t moving. I say maybe he should be benched even for a period and I swear it was him replying to me. So angry. Love the guy but the compete level isn’t there. Hopefully he kills it tonight
No argument here - preach on brother. :teach2: Maybe I'm expecting too much from a guy who broke the gym equipment and still ends up on his ass in almost every other board battle. Come on, Slaf, play with the rage of Nilan, the energy of`Biron and the heart of Gallagher.

Unfortunately, Struble is no longer waiver exempt so that’s one less roster spot available.

No one knows if Reinbacher might have gotten a call up had he not been injured. He’d be much better off getting more games in Laval, before he becomes an option, IMO.

Anyway, isn’t he out for the season? That’s a lost development year and that will stall his call up with the big club, given how players suffering significant injuries and who miss a whole season, typically have a steeper climb.

It was stated at the time of his injury that Reinbacher would be out about 5 months. That means we could see him around March? Here's hoping
