I think any injury to the defense is harmful. A Suzuki injury buries them, as does an injury to Monty (who is being used more than any other goalie in the league).

Struble is capable of. Losing Suzuki though….
Laine still hasn’t found his 5 on 5 game yet and hasn’t scored a PP goal in a few games now. The PP hasn’t been producing like it was. I’m not sure he’s really had much impact in 3 or 4 games. Still, I’d rather he was playing.

I don’t care if it’s the Black Hawks’ theme song, it has found me and I can’t get it out of my head. I dunno why but it just puts me in a good mood, something I can use in case the Habs get shellacked tonight (not hoping for it but, not optimistic).

I'm not big on struble. In addition to that, one injury on defense just seems to cause a ripple effect and sometimes gets players to go play out of their natural position.
Canucks fans still have ptsd from it.

Watcing WJC on TSN and for a while there the commentators were about equally interested in the game as some radio commentators I heard 35 years ago.
That game was Finland vs Soviet Union and the play-by-play (only one person on that radio channel so he has to keep on talking to avoid dead air, no matter what) goes approximately like this: "And that's the Soviet defender.. actually his brother is a professional boxer. And the story goes that this one this one time he was getting ready for match and saw his opponent... Soviet Union has scored... And actually that opponent looked really big. So he decided to climb out of the dressing room window and run away. Game is now 2-0."
Based on the interest level it's not Canada playing for sure. They want to talk players not the game.

Look at how Toronto has done without Matthews, Washington without Ovie. Half of the biggest stars have missed time this season already. A contender will keep up .500 without a single player.
Agreed, while the Habs have made great strides they obviously don't have the depth needed to live without one key player.

Yeah, add Demidov next season and we probably don't miss a beat with a Laine injury. Where we feel it the most is on D when we have a scratch.
We need to add legit depth on the backend in the offseason imo. Reinbacher's annoying injury this year continues to rear it's ugly head. He assuredly would have gotten plenty of chances with how this season has played out.
