Considering where we are in the standing, we are now 6-7-1 against the Pacific. Only team with a losing record. Dallas is 9-5, which is better than the Quacks. Go figure.

It was another fourth match in six nights in last two weeks and eight match in last 13 days. Six of this eight matches were on the road. Both time they get 5 out of 8 points (10 out of 16 points during that period)

It was similar result as last week in Phoenix, they were gassed in third period. I wouldn't worry much...

It will be easier till the end of regular season, only one back to back and only three games on the road left...

Set me straight, the kings were spread eagle beagle going blind? roll another one, take the bit and punch the lion in the teeth... *rickets*

So recorded the game...got home from work at 11..just finished it. If i would of know about that 3rd I would have not even bothered. This is a bad loss going into the playoffs. Or is it a wake up call??
Brown looked defeated after the match which I think is good...havent seen him upset like that in a long time. Lets turn it around next game. We need playoff Brown. Piss people off Brown. We need Kopitar to step it up again. Relying on the second line will not get us by the first round. For a crazy feeling I think we will face the Sharks and im dead scared of that. Within the 2 games against the Sharks...this team better fill out.

Watched them vs the Sharks who had 7 game winning streak. Dallas looked very good with a B-roster, they still think they can make it. I'm expecting a loss this time.

I dissagree. True dallas still has some potent pieces of their line up. However No jagr, no roy we should be able to keep control of the puck.
I said it.

The Sharks were dominated by them and I feared the worst already.

Tell me was Doughty diving? He was called for it and there wasn't any replay so I couldn't tell.

Reactions on ice seemed to disagree with the call.

Edit. Watched the Dallas feed as the Kings feed was blackouted..

When players usually give up its because they weren't prepared and that's the job of the coach. I think Sutter should do a better job preparing the players. He can't go soft on them which might or might not be the reason they gave up.

Not only do the Stars own the Kings this year, but this was an odd single road game, 2 time zones away, thrown into the middle of a group of games in southern California. 3rd game in 4 nights as well.

Call them reasons, call them excuses, whatever. They played the wrong team at the wrong time. The Kings are 21-11-4 against everyone not named the Stars. 109 GF, and 87 GA taking games out against Dallas.

It's not losing a game that's the problem. That's going to happen, for whatever reason. It's what they do in the next game that's important.

It was a good night to suck horribly, seeing as the Wild and Sharks also both lost. And it was such a bad loss, its hard to even be mad.

Also glad this was the first game in weeks I completely missed. And better yet, I have Muse to thank!

Quick looked steady right up until the wheels came off in front of him.

Hope Lehtonen's injury is not serious. That guy was just starting to pull it together and kinda maybe look like he was going to be the goalie everybody expected him to be.

Was this the third time Dallas has been fresh and the Kings have been tired?

Just for fun I went back and read the PGT's from the 2 final regular season games against the Sharks. Could just cut and paste them to this game.

On a random note I have no idea how anaheim does it, stats or not, they are winning and are so much more consistent than us, how do they find those players that all mesh so fast. They have some really good coaching.

Yes they do, until the playoffs.

 Still, sounds like he put in more effort than the Kings.

I honestly have no clue what the coaches see in having Lewis out on the PP. As you said, he's been disastrous on the PP. If not Toffoli, at least put Penner out there in front of the net.

Sutter's always been the type to reward the hardworkers with PP time. I think one time in Calgary he had a five-man PP where everyone on the ice for the Flames was a defenseman. Sometimes I think he takes it a bit far, but it seems to be a good motivator, especially for the lower line players.

When players usually give up its because they weren't prepared and that's the job of the coach. I think Sutter should do a better job preparing the players. He can't go soft on them which might or might not be the reason they gave up.

When has Sutter ever gone soft on anyone? The dude would likely throat punch a horse if it bucked him off.

EVERY team has a bad game. I bet if you look through Scotty Bowman's record you'll several 5-1 losses, and several tahtw ere even worse. As others have said, we've played 40 games and this was our only real clunker all season. Odds are that once Sutter gets done extracting his size 12 rubber boot from everyones anal cavity, it'll be the last one this season too. How many other teams can say they've had only one clunker all season? Maybe Chicago, Anaheim and a few others, but not many.

And there's a big difference between having a bad game and giving up.

Was this the third time Dallas has been fresh and the Kings have been tired?

Hmm, didn't even think about that...that was Dallas getting us at yet ANOTHER 3 games in 4 nights. Not an excuse, but maybe explains the fatigued looks and how they let Dallas run us over physically. Haven't seen the Kings get physically abused since Sutter took over.

zOMG why is ranford still with the team?!

Well played, sir!

That .895 will look ugly under JQ's Vezina caliber season on stat sheets though. Hope he gets above .900 by the end of season at least. People started to regard Niemi/Fasth above him, but no worries Quickie will make them remember in playoff time.
