The goals aren’t coming in bunches, but at least they’re coming, even on the power play once in a while. It’s officially a new year, and if their last two games of 2016 prove to be a true indication, the Bruins offense just might be taken off the NHL’s endangered species list.

Paced to an early three-goal lead on strikes from Frank Vatrano, Patrice Bergeron, and Tim Schaller, the Bruins Saturday afternoon waved au revoir to 2016 with a 3-1 win over the Sabres in front of a full-house 17,565 at the Garden.

The victory, following their 4-2 win Thursday night in Buffalo, delivered the Bruins to back-to-back wins for the first time since a string of three victories at the start of December. It also gave them a 10-point cushion in the standings over the Sabres, their old Adams Division nemesis, and brought them into 2017 with a 20-15-4 record still in possession of a playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.

2017 here in Newfoundland.. From my family to all your's, wishing you all a very Healthy, Happy and Prosperous 2017. Happy New Year Bruin Friends.

Bruins win 2 straight and looking at the next 5 or so games, no reason they cant get winning streak started. I guess these days, there's no such thing as an easy game but the schedule looks as good as it gets.. Tied for 2nd in division with Sens having games in hand, lets distance ourselves from the pack a little..

Happy New Year !

Does Brady have tantrums?

I always thought the best players learned how to control and manage those emotions.

Oh yes. Brady has had many infamous tirades on the sideline, even one that culminated with him getting into it with a coach.

Just a couple of weeks ago against the Ravens, he missed a deep pass and flipped out on the sidelines.

Ultra competitiveness at it's finest from A type personalities driven to be the best. Just like I can't fault Brady for letting off steam when things go wrong, I can't blame Eichel for doing the same thing ALTHOUGH it's easier to excuse Brady for his behavior because of how much equality he's built towards being a team leader. Eichel hasn't earned that sort of leniency yet.

If Vatrano keeps scoring points, we might make the playoffs. Bruins need one more goal scorer to give teams harder defensive match-ups

Bergeron was fantastic - 3 days off skates worked

Kevan Miller is an animal - I'll take him. The **** he gets here is embarrassing

I can't watch Riley Nash without thinking of BruinDust

McQuaid is also one tough sob

The Reinhart's are one overrated family

Spooner needs to play every game- he's got elite offensive skills

If Claude has an issue put him on 4th line but run the PP THROUGH SPOONER

The refereeing gets an F

I agree with al of this :handclap:

How many goals have opponents scored after cmiller laughs his way out of a confrontation? Think it was Deslauriers who got to him right before the goal yesterday. Would like to see a little more edge from miller and a little less happy go lucky mentality.

Because there's more than one way to skin a cat. Pigeonholing a position into a certain way of playing is too old world mentality for the current way the NHL is played.

I also disagree that Krug is woefully inadequate in his own zone. His numbers and the eye test prove this theory invalid. He's not going to be a shutdown guy and his size does give him limitations, but his effort, moxy, and willingness make him much better in his own zone than you seem to be comfortable giving him credit for. You want woefully inept in his own zone? Look up Dion Phaneuf circa late Flames/entire Leafs career. Or Mike Komisarek. That's woefully inept.

. Effort, moxy willingness. Thousands of border line NHLers who failed out of the league have had this. It does not give you the right to be a NHL player. I remeber those guys Komiserek and Dion. And while i agree, Krug is no better then them in the D zone.

Comparing Krug to other over rated players does not make him better or justify your defending him just because you like his effort. I like his effort, moxy and willingness as well, But that will mean nothing when he pops the puck over the net right in front of Rask in a tight game because he could not handle the pressure of the bigger forwards pressuring himbehind the net. Brick pointed it out yesterday when it happened. He makes several mis steps a game because he just is not big enough to handle todays NHL size. Maybe growing up he could as a Dman and maybe in College he could. But not now. Maybe that why he was not drafted ? Once the Bruins get a Suter/Doughty/Keith/Letang/Subban/McDonough/Trouba type player, Krug becomes a guy we wont need and especially at that salary. Especially if Colin Miller can keep improving with McAvoy and the others coming. Plus the fact that he is not even great on the point. His two goals this year can be replaced easily as can his five goals last season. Again, at 2.75 million, i could live with him as a 5-6 guy.

Chara/Carlo
Trouba/McAvoy......
CMiller/McQuaid/ Morrow....And the kids coming. If we had this D, nobody would miss Krugs hustle, believe me.

For the life of me i dont know why Joe Morrow is being held back by this team. And then we have some kids coming. Much rather give a Trouba Type player Krug money or a little more. Has to be the right player. Morrow will someday be a better NHL player hen Krug. If Krug was judged by Claude as Morrow is and C Miller has been. He would never see the ice. Why he gets a pass is beyond me.

Gee, the Bruins really need a Suter/Doughty/Keith type player. Wow, imagine if we got one and we still had DOUGIE for him to play with!!? That would be the bestever since 77! :naughty:

That's hilarious because Kane specifically waits until two linesman are there before he drops the gloves and goes ape****. Hilarious fake hockey player

That's the way I saw it. Miller has given him a dozen chances this year. The only time he seemed willing is when the stripes are between them. Too bad, he's a pretty good fighter, it would have been a good bout if he had got up the stones.

I do find it hilarious that after going at it all season, suddenly Kane becomes a Twitter tough guy after there's no chance of meeting again this year.

The irony of Buffalo complaining about linesmen preventing/breaking up fights.

"pounding equipment, screaming, storming out without speaking" sounds more similar to what a somewhat spoiled five year old who doesn't get his sweets would do than the overstated "hissy fits" people complain about Brady having.

Fitting that Evander Kane tweets that, all the while knowing he won't have to face K. Miller and the Bruins again until next season.
