Krug had another strong game sees the ice beautifully and his defense continues to evolve

In the third when poor Colin Miller lost the puck and the Sabres almost made it 3-2 Claude was ripping when he came back to the bench even though play was heading down other end

Carlo had a nice strong game - not as fatigued looking as of late

Vatrano goes to seems in scoring areas and gets in line for passes - he did it a couple of times in second in front of me. He was involved in the play but as soon as he sensed his linemates were getting or had control he instinctively went for a spot that was available for a pass in a scoring spot but with some separation. He's a 30 goal guy down the road

Great defensive play from Krug when he flipped it over the net right in front of Rask. Must of been testing him. Have you ever seen a dman pass the puck backwards so much in his life ? Had a assist on Schaller goal at mid ice. Thanks Shall for the pad stat. But other then the one cringe worthy play in front, He did not kill us which i guess you call a good game.

Vatrano does find space nicely but needs to learn when to shoot it and when to look to either side for a quick pass.....Dmen are staying square on him and coming out to block his shots. Happened today and the puck went the other way and was almost a break away.

Wow, you really hate Torey KRUG. I guess next you'll tell us he's not a very good skater? :sarcasm:

Not true at all. I think Krug has a ton of spunk and grit, i think he is a fine passer who can create and i think he attacks the net nicely when he see's a crease. That said,

I also think he is woefully in adequate in his own zone, very weak around the net front and in gretzky's office and panics with the puck when confronted. I think he is highly over rated on this board based on a great showing when he first came to the team. Not a bad hockey player, he is just not a top four and is not a 5.25 million dollar player.

I simply like my defensemen to be better at defense then they are on offense. Judging defensemen by how many points they score in my opinion is not how to judge them unless they are named Bourque, or Potvin or Robinson or Orr or some others because they hit people and protected the house and came out of corners with the puck. Top four Dmen should hit people unless they have an IQ like Lidstrom who was a great positional Dman. Krug is not even close to this type player.

I actually think Karlsson on Ottawa is also highly over rated....Whats wrong with thinking Defensemen should be great at Defense first and lay Physical to on rushing skaters coming into the zone?

Vatrano is the real deal. If he and Pasta can get hot as our 1a and 1b shooters at the same time...look out.

Good win, but extremely disappointing this team had zero response to Buffalo especially knowing Backes is definitely out.

Buffalo was the team willing to fight... shameful.

Regardless, Happy New Year to all!

Mac and Killer offered to go... the refs did everything they could in order to not lose control of the game if you ask me.

Because there's more than one way to skin a cat. Pigeonholing a position into a certain way of playing is too old world mentality for the current way the NHL is played.

I also disagree that Krug is woefully inadequate in his own zone. His numbers and the eye test prove this theory invalid. He's not going to be a shutdown guy and his size does give him limitations, but his effort, moxy, and willingness make him much better in his own zone than you seem to be comfortable giving him credit for. You want woefully inept in his own zone? Look up Dion Phaneuf circa late Flames/entire Leafs career. Or Mike Komisarek. That's woefully inept.

Eichel apparently upset after this game as well

I wouldn't consider that "good to see" if I was in BUF management. Good that he cares but that's an immature way to handle it. He did the same thing at the end of the game the other night, slamming his stick on the cross bar and along the glass at the buzzer.

He was out of control the night BU lost the Frozen Four Final to Providence.

One of the most common traits of the best players in sports tends to be an obessive need to excel or win. The bi product of that sort of obsessives is boughts of temper tantrums when things arent going well. Look at Tom Brady as an example. Not all of the greats are like this but more than a few are. Jack had a great analogy the other night about needing the release the pressure valve to let the steam come out or else the whole thing blows. Remember Tim Thomas? The guy was the most driven to succeed goaltender we've seen in a long time and when things went wrong, nets would be tipped and sticks smashed.

Maybe he should demand a trade to Boston. . . "Right ****ing now"

Does Brady have tantrums?

I always thought the best players learned how to control and manage those emotions.

2017 here in Newfoundland.. From my family to all your's, wishing you all a very Healthy, Happy and Prosperous 2017. Happy New Year Bruin Friends.

Bruins win 2 straight and looking at the next 5 or so games, no reason they cant get winning streak started. I guess these days, there's no such thing as an easy game but the schedule looks as good as it gets.. Tied for 2nd in division with Sens having games in hand, lets distance ourselves from the pack a little..
