I think the better option is to play Dobes against the weaker opponent, but I could see the logic in playing monty to try and secure a W, and reward Dobes for shutting out the panthers by giving him the Avs. Its a show of confidence but also a big test to see if he can be consistent. If he does, it puts pressure on Monty in a good way.

Imagine Dobes wins vs CHI but Monty gets shelled by the Avs. Does that tell us much? Not really. It's much better to tell monty to go out and be the starter and get an 'easy' W, and Dobes to have an increased challenge to better evaluate him.

Dobes got FLA the better of the two florida teams...........go figure.
I thought he would also get the Hawks, and Monty the Avs also............it's a 50/50 right now.
Habs are playing well, and so are the goalies..........let's hope we keep rolling.

They're playing another 3 games in 4 nights again? Stupid 4 Nations tourney.
The 4 Nations tourney is replacing the bye-week and All Star break, it's not the actual cause for the Habs having the most b2bs in the league while seemingly trying to maximize travel distance instead of shortening it.

I think it's even more basic than that :
- Monty Friday
- Dobes Staturday
- Monty Monday

If you play Monty Saturday, it's only one day break cause he'll surely be the starter at the BC when they return on Monday. 2 days break if they play him friday.

And on top of that, Dobes played his younger years nest to Colorado (Kansas, Nebraska), might have some of his friends and younger teamate at the game for even more motivation.

Hoping Dach puts some money on the board. Everyone is saying this is a trap game. The boys need to focus.

Yep, it has alot of the markings of a trap but Pierre mcguire said it takes some time for the teams coming back from the outdoor to reset... so there's that.

I know the Habs played outdoors a few times over the years but the only game I remember when they came back indoors was 2003 against Vancouver. After winning the outdoor game, they laid a big egg against Vancouver indoors.

So maybe there is something to what McGuire is saying.... but it's only one game.

So…. He’s now an nhl star because he won his first game? lol! Great logic there!
JFC, who's talking about NHL star? I stated a fact. People on this site have a hard time taking facts because they need to be right. It's nuts. Watch the games instead of spewing crap you know nothing about.

I'd have gone with dobes against Chicago.

Playing a back to back in altitude against those weapons could potentially wreck dobes and lose him mentally.

Monty has shown bounce back after bad games. He would recover. Seemed like the logical choice.
