Poor DeBrusk. Hopefully it's just one of those hairline fractures and he's not out for too long, but barring some miracle or inaccurate reporting (I note he's not listed on IR just yet) we're talking weeks rather than days here which is a real shame. But opportunity knocks and perhaps others will thrive in his absence.

The practice lines as posted are the logical ones. Pasta back with Bergy and Hall and Zacha on either side of Krejci. Splitting McAvoy and Lindholm remains the right move for me. I don't like the look of the 4th line though but it will do as a temporary measure. I agree with @Aeroforce though, if there's a time to inject Wags back into the lineup, it's now. Bit of fresh energy, he'll be physical and responsible and I think he is better at the 4th line grind than Smith.

I think this is not a bad time for a road trip. The Christmas period and the Classic are great but they can have their disruptions and distractions, and the team has felt like it is losing its edge in some respects, which is only to be expected at this time of year and after being hot for so long. Being away will give them time to come together as a group and refocus, and hopefully try and iron out a few of the kinks in their play. I happened to watch the Kings beat the Stars yesterday and they played a really solid game. Good first and probably hardest challenge of this west coast swing coming up for the Bs.

Sad for Jake, he was playing well. Bruins have depth but will miss his speed and youthful energy. Watching the other night the analysts mentioned the only Bruin upgrade they could think of would be youthful legs for the long haul.
With Jake out for maybe a couple months I'm sure the Bruins will tinker with different players, but wonder if they feel the need to replace youth with youth.

My tentative plan is watch the first period live(not sure if I can make it, as puck drop is at my work night bedtime :wally:)DVR the rest and get up extra early tomorrow (which means around 5am:eek3:for me) and cruise through the rest before going to work.
Please get and hold a lead, 3rd period comebacks will eventually dry up. So sorry to hear about JBD, Hope he rests and recovers ahead of schedule like the rest of the boys. Perfection line: Let’s Go !!!

He's gonna have to step up with Jake out. Because there were games where Jake was outperforming Marchy on all cylinders. Now is the time for leaders to step up and lead because losing Jake for any amount of time is going to hurt us. THIS is the adversity we all knew was going to come.

So now is the time to step up.
Actually, Brad was playing well in most games he was just not scoring, Jake benefits from Marchy's play.

IMO Jake rarely outplays Brad and I like Jake.

Really sucks Debrusk getting hurt,he was having such a good season,I guess the main thing is that he is healthy for the playoffs, and is Wagner really the Bruins best option from Providence.

I gotta respectfully disagree. There has been plenty of games where Jake has carried that line. Especially as of late. Whereas Brad hasn't looked his best and that okay. I'm sure it has to do with his hips. He'll get back on track in no time. But there has been definitely games where without Jake, that top line looked not so great.

And that's okay to say. I have no doubt, especially now with the injury that Brad will step up. Because we're gonna need him to. Leaders lead. He's one of them.

Really looking forward to this one. Kings are playing pretty good hockey as of late. When their tending and D is on they are very tough to beat. Thankfully those things aren't on as much as they would like.

In their most recent stretch of games they've defeated Dallas, Vegas, Colorado, and Calgary. Impressive. In that same stretch they've lost to Arizona and Philly. Go figure. For a team with a minus diff it's impressive that they are only 4 pts back of Vegas.

jake was playing great. but pasta and marshy together have great chemistry. they could both be playing drunk and make other teams looks silly.
