Poor DeBrusk. Hopefully it's just one of those hairline fractures and he's not out for too long, but barring some miracle or inaccurate reporting (I note he's not listed on IR just yet) we're talking weeks rather than days here which is a real shame. But opportunity knocks and perhaps others will thrive in his absence.
The practice lines as posted are the logical ones. Pasta back with Bergy and Hall and Zacha on either side of Krejci. Splitting McAvoy and Lindholm remains the right move for me. I don't like the look of the 4th line though but it will do as a temporary measure. I agree with
@Aeroforce though, if there's a time to inject Wags back into the lineup, it's now. Bit of fresh energy, he'll be physical and responsible and I think he is better at the 4th line grind than Smith.
I think this is not a bad time for a road trip. The Christmas period and the Classic are great but they can have their disruptions and distractions, and the team has felt like it is losing its edge in some respects, which is only to be expected at this time of year and after being hot for so long. Being away will give them time to come together as a group and refocus, and hopefully try and iron out a few of the kinks in their play. I happened to watch the Kings beat the Stars yesterday and they played a really solid game. Good first and probably hardest challenge of this west coast swing coming up for the Bs.
