ROE= record of employment

I think how much time they spent on the beach today will indicate the "phoning it in" level the Jets have ha. This is the Dads/mentors trip so maybe they will put an extra effort in to impress them.
It's 15C in San Jose today I do not think they'll be spending time at the beach maybe on the Golf course with their dads and mentors..

I don't mind getting a look at different combinations but a bit extreme to break up that top line after 1 bad game.
I assume it's more about the 3 of them not scoring for 3 games (as a line - I know Ehlers potted one after the shake up). I am curious to see Perfetti play with Scheif for a bit to see if they can get some chemistry going. Not to be greedy but I'd love to see Cole get on a roll again. A confident 91 is a dangerous 91.

Great GDT this morning, but then again, aren't they all? We used to watch all that aliens nonsense and make rude jokes about his stylist.

Missing this game for my third last ever shift at work, though the manager keeps saying I'm just taking a few months off and he'll keep my ROE open, whatever that is. Reading how many of the poor dears in here won't be able to stay awake until the end of the game is kind of funny when my shift ends at midnight and I get home close to 1.

I hope we don't fall into the trap of playing to the Sharks' level like we sometimes do. If we play like they were Bruins, this could be a major fish fry. If we play like we sometimes phone it in and show little effort, it'll be two very valuable points wasted. The Stars and the Avalanche aren't going to start coasting any time soon.

Go Jets go!
As someone that works midnights but is finally off tonight i will be up even if i don't want to.:laugh:

Great job @macmaroon as always!

Go Jets Go!!!

@Stumbledore, as requested I will assist in breaking the trap by supplementing the Plain Jane power with some Luc photos.

My audition for this commercial took place in the middle of a beach day. I left my sister and her boyfriend at the beach to audition at a Richardson building convention room only to return to the beach a couple hours later. Judging by the actual commercial my hair looks like I just came out of the water.

Continuing the Olympic theme:

Bonus pictures, I preemptively give this game 10 Luc Stamps of Approval for the convincing 5-1 victory (4 power play goals).

RIP @lomiller1
We cherished your presence on these boards and we will miss you.
I loved the photos and also the story behind them. Now if we could only get a certain few others to post themselves on here.....

That thou hast late games, it is not all my grief,
Yo, and it may be said I love any game dearly;
That we hath Lurch, a 6 foot 5 wall of flailing beef,
A boss who smushes Hertl like a plug at beer league.
O and little Sharks, thus I will excuse ye:
If ye love wins, thou knowst that you’ve gotta give her;
But all hope ye’ll forsake - the Jets will abuse ye,
Shake hands with our fourth line, a shaker and a groover.
Ye'll resort to booze, to quell our scoring refrain,
Aye, Sharks'll lose her, their fans will eat that loss;
Lardo finds a heater, and round the net cause pain,
And for Jets sake, all winners, climb up on that hoss:
But here's the joy; my team and I are one;
Sweet flattery! Second line, go get her done.
The couplet at the end really cracked me up. Shakespeare at his finest would smell as sweet.

Thanks to ChatGPT for the following song, as if sung by Aerosmith.

(Verse 1)
In the heart of the ice, where legends collide,
Jets soared high, Sharks felt the tide.
With blades sharp and spirits bold,
Winnipeg's Jets, a tale untold.

(Chorus)
Tonight they flew, soared to victory,
Jets roared loud, in thrilling symmetry.
San Jose's waters turned icy blue,
Jets triumphed strong, a victory true.

(Verse 2)
The puck danced, the crowd cheered,
Jets' determination, victory steered.
With each pass, a story unfolds,
Winnipeg's pride, an epic to behold.

(Chorus)
Tonight they flew, soared to victory,
Jets roared loud, in thrilling symmetry.
San Jose's waters turned icy blue,
Jets triumphed strong, a victory true.

(Bridge)
In the clash of titans, where dreams take flight,
Jets conquered the Sharks, their might ignites.
Winnipeg's fervor, passion untamed,
In this frozen battle, they've claimed their fame.

(Chorus)
Tonight they flew, soared to victory,
Jets roared loud, in thrilling symmetry.
San Jose's waters turned icy blue,
Jets triumphed strong, a victory true.

(Outro)
Through the rinks they glide, their glory untamed,
Winnipeg's Jets, forever acclaimed.
In the echoes of the game, their legacy remains,
Defeating the Sharks, their victory reigns.

In my bartending days we closed at 1:00. I was presumably your age. I’d be up next day for an 8:30 class or in summer, for work at 6:00 with ease. You’re still just a baby. Enjoy the intervening years to the best of your ability because your time to be old will come faster than expected, if you’re lucky.

Classic trap game. GJG.

We never seem to play well against them generally speaking.
Funny how some teams give you issues no matter where they are in the standings
Sometimes I wonder if worse teams have less structure to counter. Too much randomness.

I don't mind getting a look at different combinations but a bit extreme to break up that top line after 1 bad game.
I feel like it’s been more than one game.

Another late night game tonight, as the 23-9-4 Winnipeg Jets take on the 9-26-3 San Jose Sharks at 9:30pm CST at SAP Center. Winnipeg is 7-2-1 in their last ten games and are coming off of a 4-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning, while San Jose is 1-9 and last won against our very own Jets. Can our fly boys seek revenge for that lost, or is it going to be a trap? Will Bowness continue to tinker with the lines and has he had a chance to straighten out our special teams? Are the Sharks really that bad, or are they lurking under the radar to catch a team off guard? Will @Atoyot's suggestion about spreading the wealth on all lines be taken into account by Bones? Can @macmaroon stay awake? These questions and more can be found floating in the San Francisco Bay...

Knew I was going to love this one as soon as I saw the first frame. :laugh:

I posted that Ricky video for her, she looks like a flower and stings like a bee .:laugh:
If my deductions are right and my memory still serves -- this was last September -- she is no flower, she's stunningly beautiful. Not in the flashy, big boobs, all teeth and hair kind of way, but in the way that you see a girl and you're suddenly struck and then instantly it's five seconds later and she's walked past you and you're left standing there kind of dumb and stupid.

On second thought, if you're going for flowers, I'd suggest she's a Venus flytrap. I'll find out tomorrow night when I do my Coming Out Party, coming out of alcohol deprevation.

My shift ends at midnight, home probably close to 1, group meet on campus tomorrow at 9 and I'll be there because I've been in too many peoples' bad books lately.

I turn 26 this month. Not sure if being called a baby is an insult or a reassuring ego boost. Or maybe a reflection of the average age in here, which I'm guessing is closer to 60 than 50.

Anybody else a little concerned that the Sharks' goalie tonight is the same boy that shone so brightly in our loss to them last month?

Sad part in my case is the mind has trouble letting go. I still think of myself like how I was in my 20s.

And I get surprised when I realize how old I really am :laugh:

Re: Shark's goalie - yep, I'm a bit nervous. Wouldn't surprise me if their goalie plays like a superior version of Helle.

You do realize that when you're having these hairy-chested, crotch-grabbing and spit conversations about me, I'm right here and can read everything you say?

And while we're at it, I hope you remember that if, a big IF, we end up in the same place tomorrow night you've promised to respect my privacy and not cause any problems for me.
