The Todd Father. I like it.
Team looks different the past two games.
21 more wins!

Nah you are good. I have the same hatred. I despise Bettman even more when he just laughed and said the rule wasn’t meant for guys like Malkin. Another 10 years and I should get over it. I’m old enough that I might be dead by then so I’m good with thatWatching Malkin's nonsense tonight made me discover that I am still viscerally angry about the instigator non-suspension in '09. Like literally getting hot under the collar at the thought of it.
Am I just good at holding a grudge, or is 15 years just not long enough?
Well, SY will just need to make an impact trade vs draft an immediate impact playerTeam is looking competent/competitive again.
Nice to have some watchable games again. The downside is we are inevitably going to be picking back in our regular 8-15th range.
The top 4 dream seems out of reach with decent coaching.
That last comment was in reply to someone saying Velano wasn’t very good. I put in the wrong spot.Nah you are good. I have the same hatred. Everyone is a good player when we are on a winning streak.
No question, time for inaction is over.Well, SY will just need to make an impact trade vs draft an immediate impact player
6 points in 8 gamesI don't f***ing understand what Veleno has done for a spot at top6? This dude can skate, that's all he can do.
Edit: Berggren Rasmussen Motte Rasmussen whoever is better, this dude is a waste of a roster spot. Waive Veleno.
Dude has had all the chances in the world and he has 7 points in 32 games? Wings fire a coach and hes in top6 AGAIN? wtf is going on?
Edit: also hello to the dude who messaged me and said "veleno" wants to talk to you"
No, all the league politics of that series is still very bitter for me, so I am with you.Watching Malkin's nonsense tonight made me discover that I am still viscerally angry about the instigator non-suspension in '09. Like literally getting hot under the collar at the thought of it.

Also. It is unbelievable how slow and skill-less Copp is. He needs to be replaced by Kasper as C2 immediately.
And Tarasenko needs to be moved to his off-wing immediately.
And for Cripe's sake...please at least give Johansson a chance to beat out Holl/Gustafsson.
Veleno--Larkin--Raymond
DeB--Kasper--Kane
Copp/Berg/Ras--Compher--Tarasenko
Chiarot--Seider
Edvinsson--Petry(puke)
Johansson--Holl/Gustafsson
AlJo's like 12 years old though, right? Looks like he gets carded at R-rated movies.Weird time for these comments given how the game went.
Gustaffson's one timer from the blueline led to the game winning goal and he had one of his better games overall. Holl too. Holl put a Pens player thru boards in a way that AlJo never could. Gus plays on the PP and Holl on the PK, and I'm not sure Johansson could do either.
I'm all for giving Johansson more looks but he's got to pack on some muscle. And he hasn't looked like much more than a cheap #6/7 guy.

Oh well. They'll figure it out. I guess SY had to jump early on moving on from Newsy to avoid the rot, but whatever happens the rest of this season - early playoff exit, barely missing, middling "meh", or lottery gold - if the "give a shit" rating remains high the next 50 games, we'll all get through this.He definitely has a baby face. I looked it up and he's about to turn 24 on Jan 4th.
Chiarot had one of his best games last night. Are defensive roster are certainly not world beaters, but having better puck support from the forwards certainly can help alleviate asking too much of inferior players. It's nice to see all the improvements since McLellan. But end of the day...Chiarot-Petry-Holl-Gustafsson are still getting 67% of our defensive minutes. And we are hopeless.
If ASP is ready to go at the start of next yr, great...but we shouldn't count on it.
Chiarot can SURVIVE one more season as a #4 D, but that's about it.
Two NHL HC's have now determined that Johansson is not better than Holl/Gustafsson. Maybe he will never be an NHL player.
Wallinder is at least an entire yr away, if ever. Buium is not half as promising as him.
We need a major defensive makeover between now and next season. And it'd better not be the same people who thought signing Holl, Gustafsson, etc. orchestrating it.
1) NEED to find a long-term top-4 LHD. Someone sound defensively. Big, physical, mean. Fast. Talented enough to move the puck.
2) NEED to find a 3rd Pair RHD. Just someone decent. Competent. Sound defensively and fast. Hopefully big and physical. At least okay enough to breakout and handle the puck a little. Can sign him to a 2-3yr deal.
3) NEED to find a 3rd Pair LHD. Ditto above...but just on a one yr deal.
???---Seider
Edvinsson---Chiarot (then ASP)
??? (then Chiarot, then Wallinder next yr)---???
If you can't move Holl and Gustafsson between now and next season...buy them out or send them to GR for the yr. Neither should touch LCA ice in Red Wing jerseys next yr.
We beat them twice this season. Their PK is nr one the road, we scored twice. No, all the league politics of that series is still very bitter for me, so I am with you.
Living in the greater Pittsburgh area makes it worse, they act like they weren't given any help whatsoever and they and they alone ended the Red Wings dynasty. Love the area, but God do I hate their hockey team and fans. Thankfully I didn't live around here in 09, I would have gone psychotic.
Add in all the Crosby slurp fest that goes on despite him being maybe the biggest chicken in league history, I am salivating at their eventual tear down and rebuild. The best part is, they are refusing to do it out of loyalty, something Red Wings know all too well and know how it goes. That org will continue to slowly die off and then suffer greatly and they totally deserve all of it.
Man that crosscheck on Malkin was a thing of beauty. That is my man, that is how the defenceman cleans the crease.Chiarot had one of his best games last night. Are defensive roster are certainly not world beaters, but having better puck support from the forwards certainly can help alleviate asking too much of inferior players.
Mclellan said in one of his last press conferences that AJo WILL get an opportunity at some point, and when he does he has to prove himself. I tend to take what he said at face value, and his comments almost verbatim were that he does not know enough about the player yet to make a determination.
I think they're just trying to showcase and hopefully move Holl/Gustafsson with all the scouts in town amid these trade talksChiarot had one of his best games last night. I predicted in Fester/Todd thread that Chiarot will play well for a while until he finds his comfort zone with the new coach then goes back to doing stupid shit.Chiarot had one of his best games last night.
That can't be right. I've been reasonably informed that not trading for Graves was the first of a series of mistakes that led to our current lineup.

He's gonna have a longer career if he can establish himself as a stay at home D instead of a puck chasing buffoon. He could also improve his advanced stats just by riding Mo's coattail instead of trying to make plays on the offensive end.
He allowed the first goal in Todd's first 2 games. You think the coach trusts him?Kasper had the least ice time of any forwards tonight. Starting to hit a bit of a rookie wall?
And he's not gonna get any points playing with Motte and Raz. At this rate, it'll only be a couple more weeks until everyone agrees that he should get sent down to GR. 10 minutes TOI playing with 2 guys that can't score goals isn't going to do anything for Kasper's development. Raz and Motte would have to be lucky to even get 10 goals together the rest of the season, so Kasper's gonna get 10 more assists AT MOST, and maybe a couple of goals? Both of his goals were on the PP, and Todd took him off of that.I think he's been pointless for maybe ... 12 games now?

I'd rather see Raz-Fish-Elmer as the 4th line more than Raz-Kasper-Motte.
