Gorton disagreed that this is a rebuild multiple times
Where? He always calls it rebuild/re-tool/whatever...They just didn't know how bad the team was before the season. I think they expect to accelerate the process at some point (FAs/trades), they just don't know at what time the pieces in place will be ready to contend.

Montreal
Hughes has done a great job with trades, but he now has big challenges which he hasn't really had to deal with yet. Outside of a miracle Dadonov, Drouin and Armia have 0 value.
Greatest value of 1st two and Byron is that they're all off the books in April. Dadonov allowed us to get out from Weber. Period.
Hughes has to decide if and when he wants to move on from Monahan, Edmunston and Hoffman - maybe Anderson and Savard.
We might see some deals with the second group but I suspect the value of the 1st three stiffs is their ability to keep us in the lottery - and Hughes knows this

Every time I see your name I think of Shannon Sharpe saying “Skip” a hundred times a show

We should focus on trading Dvorak to help the tank. I'm sure lots of teams would like having him as luxury 3rd center and PK and FO specialist.

Anderson probably has more value than he’s actually worth. Teams love their power forwards and there are probably enough out there who think that he could become one on a new team.

He’d be one I’d look to deal.
