I actually like the fact that its an away game. It might take some of the pressure off of them.

The Caps are a good team and you know they will give it everything they have. Win or lose, I am good. They have far exceeded expectations.

I really, really hope they win tonight. But if they don't its ok. What a season so far and we are only half way through it. Play your game boys.

This.

I'm really too old to be traipsing around as a fan in a hockey sweater, but I'm breaking out the blank original away for tonight's trip to the Verizon Center. Got it the first day they went on sale (Sears? Penney's?). Anyone remember when that was?

I think Torts will have them in the right headspace for this game, but I sure am nervous.

Even still, I don't really like getting so caught up in the streak. I mean I guess now that we're in the barn I have to pay attention to it and hope we get it, but the year has been so good anyway I don't want to get overly disappointed by a loss tonight.

Dubinsky was on NHL network yesterday between the two IIHF WJCs games. He was questioned whether they had talked about the streak in the locker room. He stated that "No they hadn't really talked about it a lot in the dressing room. And believe it or not before the last game I said to the guys, let's talk about this. This is something that we want. We want to continue this thing, we want the record."

Not good at that linking things but here is the link if you want to listen to it.

He also talked about the Boston game and what Torts said after the game and how the young guys reacted. Good stuff.

I'm hopeful for this game. Will be a tough test. Regardless of outcome, I'm pretty damn happy with this squad.

No clue, but I got a blank home white original for free when I worked for FOX19. The sports guys barely covered the IHL and AHL teams in Cincinnati back then, so I knew they'd probably didn't want the freebies that were given out (jersey, media guide, and a folder with all of the team information in it). I asked for it, and they gave it willingly.

It's also how I got the original third jersey, too.

The Cincinnati media and its love affair with hockey:shakehead

The new soccer team has relegated the Cyclones even further down the news chain than they were. The more things change the more they remain the same:laugh:

Got mine at Mejeir! Would have liked to have been in the building tonight (I think). My daughter and I were at the November game at Verizon center. I can tell you it seems like a tough place to play. Going to be even tougher tonite with the streak on the line. Have to think this is going to be similar to a 2nd round playoff match-up with us being the road team. Slight edge to the caps here.

In order for Jackets to win they must...

Stay out of the box
Get good quality shots on goal
Slow the caps down through the neutral zone

Go #CBJ

Pete, you're never too old to wear a jersey. Take it from this old guy.

As a Caps fan, it pains me to say this but...I hope you guys win it in OT tonight. I just want history to look back and see CBJ as the titleholder of longest win streak over the Pens.

Here's to hoping for a really good, hard fought, entertaining, and potentially historical game! Cheers Jackets fans.

What is going on? Pens fans are cheering for Caps to win and Caps fans are pulling for a loss? So hard to process.

This is one of the very few games all season where Washington fans are actually getting pumped up about. If this were any other opponent, I would be watching the WJHC finals instead. But now Columbus is the prime opponent. The team everyone wants to beat.

Enjoy it. Good luck.

The nerves are a nice byproduct of this game. I say that because it adds an element not dissimilar to what they may feel in their first playoff game later this year.

I read several HF fans say it's going to be like a playoff game!

I love it, win or lose we have a great season going... I've watched hundreds of Jacket games and never seen a CBJ PP as I've seen so far this season, the boys keep it in the zone until they score, unreal.

Lets hope we bring it tonight... :)

I miss your extensive use of the English vocabulary... :) The franchise was granted in late '97 and the team was set up by Doug not long after... I think the first Jerseys went on sale in early 2000 after Stinger was born...

Most Blue Jackets fans up to this year tend to use four letter words.
