Top line schooled, spanked, had their lunch money stolen and sent into the locker room at the end of that period.

Their last shift was emblematic of their period. 55 actually wins the offensive zone faceoff but the resulting lost puck battle result in a 3 on 2 against the Jets, the Jets get lucky that they are against the Tampa 4th line who make a mess of the odd man rush and allow the Jets to negate the numbers advantage. Then the failed zone exit by them results in a Lightning wide open in front of the net and again the Jets get lucky it is Eysimont instead of a more skilled player who makes a mess of the chance.

The Jets were sluggish... a little slow to the puck but battled down low...

Aside from that... the Jets picked up their pace as the game went on...

From what I saw Tampa up 1-0 is the exact right score this game should be heading into the second period.

Having said that, the Jets should demand this game be re-played if they lose by one goal.
