I honestly have really missed Kostin. He’s, at least, not Goodrow and has some real nice flashes. We’re very obviously missing a middle 6 forward…

…and good defensemen.
I don’t even think it’s that hard to find one either. We’ll just end up taking someone from a contender making more than they’re worth but they probably won’t cost much in terms of trade chips.

If Kostin is engaged, sure. He can’t be trusted to play that way enough. Dellandrea would’ve been a better option than Goodrow but not changing the whole team getting boatraced thing in the last two periods.

If we want to be playoff competitive, we need a second elite player off Celebrini’s line to help drive offense. Eklund might be that guy but he’s not consistent playing at that sort of level.

Walman and Liljegren against tough teams give the puck away too much. These guys might be strong transition sort of defensemen to hold them over until Muk and Dickinson are ready to be prime time players but not actual guys you can lean on as puck movers.

I think both things are true. I think Celebrini was frustrated at his teammates doing jack shit for two periods and figured I better do something while not stopping to think that the situation is different now and if I just maintain possession for a bit, my teammates will be along to help me.

Turned into an immediate turnover and rush down the ice and that's your game.
True, but he got back and they did get settled in the D zone. Mcdavid and Draisaitl just made a really good play.

Muk has an extremely low chance of ever becoming a prime time player that you can lean on against elite team. I agree with the sentiment of your post but I have to nitpick here because I really don’t think his name should even come up in discussions like these. He’s a long shot to ever become even a respectable 2nd pair guy. Walman, for all his warts, is that.

Probably but at this stage, I don’t believe anyone we have is that or looks like they will. Until we do, I don’t see us making much headway as a competitive team in the Celebrini era. If nothing we have looks like they can be that, I’d probably look to rent Walman come next season’s trade deadline.

Hes a 3 best case scenario and even that’s looking pretty lofty right now

Smith really leaning into the Labanc trajectory
He's a 19 year old rookie who has played about 25 NHL games. If he is doing this in year 3 and 4, then we can talk. Also he is way more physically gifted than Labanc who honestly was overachieving early in his Sharks career. Also do people not remember how much Eklund struggled in year 1? So much so that he wasn't playable. Let him develop, There is no rush.

Playing with plugs is stalling/damaging but maybe he can pull an Eklund and had a monster second half. There was a time when he was on a huge tear for about 15 games before he got injured. We should go back to doing that instead of what is going on now

Sharks need to send Askarov down. If they keep playing him, good luck getting Schaefer in teal because they're not going to catch Chicago, Buffalo and Nashville in the standings.

Being outshot 42-22, they had no business earning a point. Against a lesser team, they would have even won. That's not something you would want if you want to compliment Celebrini with another super star talent.

We need another top 9 forward in addition to Granlund and Kunin. Smith will grow into one soon enough. Should we trade those two (and Wennberg next year) however, we're going to need more to replace. Graf and Bystedt probably aren't far off, but I'd say we definitely need to find a Wennberg type acquisition or two this summer.

The defense cannot be fixed this offseason, but hopefully we can add some marginal upgrades in Rutta's spot, as well as Dickinson, Muk taking Thrun and Vlasic's spots.
Should have been kappo.

It's one game, and with the season almost half over, we are on the bottom three in points percentage, essentially tied with the other two.

I do not understand why people keep overreacting over individual games when we have consistently been in the absolute bottom group by points percentage all year.
