Oh I know, I don't blame the loss on him but he can't read plays well enough and he's too jumpy for my liking.

Btw does Pearson want to show up anytime soon?

Pearson at least played with some energy. Him and Carter were the only noticeable forwards to me

This might be the first OT where they never got a chance to score as a unit since 3 on 3 started. Carter got his shot off while everyone was changing.

Thanks for the GDT RJ! Let's Go Kings!!!

Well, it was a decent game. I don't know how we could ask too much more from this team as a whole. Going 3-2-2 is pretty impressive given the fact that Quick has been out, and both Brown and Toff missed time.

The key difference this year is depth. Thank God we finally have an AHL franchise so that we can develop these guys because without the "new" editions this team would suck.

While satisfactory, aside from the buffalo game I expected more points given how good of goal tending and defense there were

I have been critical of Kopitar, but I got to admit, other than scoring, he has been playing like a beast with possession, checking and overall defense. Hopefully he catches fire. I like how our bottom six has been playing as well. I am concerned though that Carter is the only top 6 scoring now. When Toffoli comes back he needs to get things going. Too bad we don't have cap space or assets to get a good winger for Kopi. Gabo is not cutting it.

I am also really impressed by our defensive play. I think we have the best defensive pairings in the past two years. I have noticed that the defensive structure is looking more tight as well, like Terry Murray days and 2012 post-Murray.

Carter is now tied for second in NHL goal leaders

With the largest gap between 1st and 2nd in goals on any team in the league, at 11. Crosby is 10 ahead of Malkin, and then Pastrnak is 9 in front of Marchand.

The Kings are also slightly ahead of SJ in GF 34 games into the season.

Gaborik(0-2-2) has as many goals and points at 5v5 as Purcell(0-2-2), in the same amount of games played.

Forbort(2-8-10) is outscoring Doughty(4-5-9) 5v5.

Setoguchi(4-4-8) is tied in 5v5 points with Pearson(6-2-8).

Lewis is tied with Toffoli in 5v5 goals and points, at 5-6-11.

King(5-5-10) has more 5v5 goals than Kopitar(3-7-10), Brown(1-9-10), and Gaborik(0-2-2) combined. That's $1.95m vs. $20.75m in cap space.

Brown(2-2-4) has as many PP points as Kopitar(0-4-4).

Lewis(0-1-1), Setoguchi(0-1-1), Gilbert(0-1-1), and Gravel(0-1-1), have as many PP points as Muzzin(1-0-1).

Quick has played 1 period this year. Budaj, a slightly better sv%, and GAA, and 1 fewer shutout, than Quick last year. In 40 fewer games up to this point.

All that at the Christmas break. Say that back in September, and is anyone thinking the Kings would sit in a playoff spot, only 2 points behind Anaheim for 3rd in the Pacific, and still within striking distance for 1st in the division? That's why they play the games.

so you say Budaj is better than Quick? :sarcasm:

lets trade him while price is high

Vaguely remember him going into the board and holding is arm. I could be completely wrong. Not saying he has torn ligaments per say just that wrist injuries are hard to overcome. With my wrist, the doc said they could cut the nerve to reduce pain but never truly fix the ligament. I'm sure Kopi has better docs than Kaiser tho.

That's exactly when the injury occurred. I believe his arm was extended as he went roughly into the boards and the pain on his face was very visible.
