You gotta win these games. Because what's coming after the Christmas break will be a really tough schedule. So getting points in games against FLA, TBL x 2, VGK, COL, VAN, WSH, DAL x2, TOR, NYR, NJD, WPG, and MIN will not be easy.
It won’t be easy, but 9 games in a row of being 100% healthy plus getting Carrière makes a huge difference. They have issues still, but given how big a factor injuries have been for the past few years, it’s refreshing to see a healthy lineup.

So what's the plan for Laine?! 0+1 in 8 games against Columbus. Columbus is the only team he hasn't scored a goal against in his career so far. Plus he's suffored a lot because of Columbus as they actively tried to ruin his career. Will St Louis book him with Suzuki and Caufield tonight in order to change that? Or could we see St Louis join Laine on the 2nd line and set him up with some sweet assists so Laine can finally score?
Can you explain in detail how we ruined his career when he had the best stats with us? Or did the club cause his injuries and the tragedy that was the origin of his mental problems?

The first real test against Habs PP.

Why? They should know better after 4 seasons with The Didact was playing there. Patty knows this stuff inside out. Columbus' Patty-influenced PP/PK systems version 2.0 tries to play against Patty influenced PP/PK systems version 3.0 tonight.

Oooow....h.

Primeau's done. I'm sure Habs are looking into a back up. He's started only 3 games since November. In one of those games, he got pulled (the 7-5 win against BUF on Nov. 11th). The only other times he got the net was when he came in relief because Sam wasn't having a good night.

So our back up's game logs since Nov. 1st:

November: 2 starts with 1 game being pulled. Another game where he came in relief (Vegas game where Habs lost 6-2).
December: 1 start. Another game where he came in relief (Pens game where Habs lost 9-2).

Including tonight, Habs have played 23 games since the start of November. Sam has started in 20 of those games. You know you're not the back up anymore if you only get 3 starts in 23 games. You're just a goalie players can shoot on at practice.

Please win tonight so the boys go into the Holiday break on a 4 game win streak, would do wonders for morale and maybe, just maybe, Dach can recalibrate with a few days off

The next month will tell us, are contenders for a WC spot, or just pretenders for the WC spot....
For some reason this group has some confidence now.............great to see.
I wanna see more Heineman and less Newhook in the top 6 !!
Oddly enough our lines outside of Dach and Newhook have been pretty good. Everyone has been doing their part and scoring relative to their respective roles. Dach and Newhook though have been underperforming and not contributing much offensively.

Laine was supposed to become one of the greatest goal scorer's of all time and getting traded to Columbus was going to be a fresh start for him and an opportunity to get back to his goal scoring ways after Winnipeg had ruined him with that 2way nonsense. Started out good with 3 goals in 3 games for Laine in Columbus, but with Tortorella there the focus was too much on 2 way play again and it wasn't long before Laine got benched. The following season wasn't good either as pretty much nothing changed and out of the 8 seasons Laine has played, his 4 worst goal totals were the seasons he played in Columbus with totals of 12, 26, 22 and 6 goals per season. Once this season is over Laine will most likely surpass the best goal scoring season in Columbus as he needs just 19 more goals in 49 games.

And don't get me started about the powerplay as it was absolutely terrible. You guys weren't even trying to make Laine score on the powerplay. His god like shot was totally wasted in Columbus! In 4 seasons in Columbus Laine scored just 18 powerplay goals. There's a good chance that Laine will surpass that total on the powerplay this year.

Overall you had Laine focus way too much on his overall game and ignored his strenghts. You had Hulk Hogan but tried to turn him into Ric Flair.

The only positive thing from the 4 years in Columbus was that Laine scored the most electrified goal in Columbus Blue Jacket history:
