Thinking TFred has at least earned to watch one game closely from the 9th floor.

Moral victories, but 5 points earned in the past three games. Looks like Sway vs Linus for the 7 and 8 seeds maybe this season.
If that's the case the Bruins will finish 8th, Ullmark has been sizzling red hot for awhile while Swayman has struggled to stop a beach ball all year. Looking like the Bruins traded the wrong goalie unless Swayman can suck it up and start earning his contract.
Played well overall, staying above water in the Atlantic, loser points still count.
The 2 goals the Oilers got in regulation, should never have gone in, the first one was on Swayman that was an awful goal to let in, the second one is on the Defense, where are they and why let McDavid keep pounding at the puck? You have to out McDavid on his backside and not let him continue to poke at it. Glad they let Johnson go, but they still need to make some deals.

Ullmark has also been facing basically the bottom of the barrel teams in the standings.....

5 of his last 8 games have been against teams in the bottom 10 of the standings. Of the other 3, 1 is top 10 and the other two are barley top 20.
I was only able to make it through 2 periods but thought they played pretty good.

The narrative here (and the media) on Swayman is insane. 10 starts now under Sacco and he's had one bad game (against Winnipeg) and even that game wasn't really on him considering the Grade AAA chances Winnipeg scored some of those goals on.

EDMONTON, Alberta — Talk about getting the cold shoulder.
The Bruins played to their identity for the majority of Thursday night’s affair with the Oilers. Unfortunately for them, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl played to theirs at just the right times.
Mattias Ekholm scored at 1:04 into overtime to give the Oilers a 3-2 come-from-behind victory and send their faithful into the frigid streets surrounding Rogers Place to celebrate.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for the Bruins and Jeremy Swayman, who led, 2-0, after the first and then saw it disappear when Draisaitl set up goals by Zach Hyman in the second and McDavid with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.
Up until McDavid’s equalizer, the Bruins were playing a tight-checking game in all three zones to mute the high-powered Oilers.
“Yeah, they’re both world-class players, but I don’t think we can give him too much respect in the room,” said Bruins forward Mark Kastelic. “I think that’s one of the things too, going forward, I think we might give them a little bit too much respect and I think we’ve just got to continue to be hard on them and not let them take advantage of us.”
Boston fell to 17-13-4 and finished their five-game Western swing at 2-2-1, collecting 5 points in their final three games.
As the temperatures continued to dip outside — it was minus-17 at puck drop (OK, that’s Celsius but this is Canada), the Bruins sizzled inside over the first 20 minutes.
The Bruins raced to a 2-0 lead that could have easily been 4-0 if not for some big saves from Stuart Skinner.
Even more impressive was their physicality and attention to detail in all three zones. Boston held the Oilers to just 5 shots in the first.
Elias Lindholm got the Bruins on the board just 1:07 in, circling around the circle to Skinner’s right and beating the goalie over the shoulder to the top shelf. Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy picked up the assists but credit big Justin Brazeau for providing a nice 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound screen in front of Skinner.
David Pastrnak, the hero of Tuesday night’s OT win down the road in Calgary had a couple of nice scoring opportunities.
Kastelic doubled the lead with a beauty.
The big center blew past Mattias Janmark at the blue line, curled toward the slot and around Troy Stecher before lifting a backhander past Skinner at 17:35.
“It all kind of happened pretty fast. [Johnny Beecher], I think made a good play to knock it out of the air and get in a good position for me. And I think Marc [McLaughlin] also made a little bit of a pick there as well,” said Kastelic. “And I think I was looking for someone [at the] back door and there was nobody there and just tried to lift it.”
The Oilers pushed hard in the third and their work paid off when McDavid swooped in and slid a backhander through Swayman’s pads.
“I think I was too committed to the passing option and opened myself up a little too much and he’s a hell of a player, so he made a play and saw an opening,” said Swayman. “It was unfortunate.”
It was a loss, but not all was lost.
“It was a solid [effort], especially the first period. Great start by our team, we came out checking. We were committed to checking, good habits, and good details,” said coach Joe Sacco. “Second period it swung a little bit in their favor. I thought the third was actually fairly even until the end of the game where they started to push hard. It’s just unfortunate that we couldn’t come away with that extra point.”

Not impressed with Pasta this season passing up on shots in prime scoring areas. He is getting paid to score goals.
Goal scorers give the puck away more often because they HAVE the puck more often.

Funny I was thinking the same but he still leads the entire league in shots on goal.
I do not think I have ever been so upset once Edmonton got the winning goal in OT. The first goal Swayman let in was so weak and the one McDavid scored to tie it should of been covered instead of letting McDavid keep pushing forward. McDavid to me looked terrible as did Draisaitl. We should of won that game, no excuses.

Played a good game. Pp is killing this team. Again Mac scared to shoot. Put lohrei on po 1. He will shoot. Not sure why Mac wont shoot the puck

That goal wasn't a weak goal nothing Swayman could of done differently on that one.

Also, the 'kept the wrong goalie BS'. You make that same move 10 out of 10 times. Goalie performance is on average ALWAYS worse relative to average as they get older, even at young ages. Sway is 26 while Linus is 31. While splitting starts they had similar stats. You went with Sway as your workhorse in the playoffs. You needed to make a decision as you couldn't realistically keep both.

They made the right decision if they were moving on from one of them.
It may of been the wrong decision to move Ullmark to a divisional opponent but we don't know what else was out there in terms of trade interest.

I am building an extreme dislike of Swayman, but all things being equal, you keep the younger goalie.
If you goaltender allows two goals in regulation it's on the team to win the game you can't expect him have a shutout every game
Just curious why you think that. I thought it was very stoppable, but he might have been caught off guard a bit by the turn over and quick shot.
Gifted the best player in the world and still haven't won squat. Enjoy the extra point the Bruins gave you for Christmas
