I think some posters here are misremembering a bit.

2015-16 - 7th in PP%
2016-17 - 7th
2017-18 - 4th
2018-19 - 3rd
2019-20 - 2nd
2020-21 - 10th
2021-22 - 15th
2022-23 - 12th
2023-24 - 14th

Recency bias is a thing . It certainly feels like it's been bad for a long time. Really, it's the last five years have been ehhhhh (including this). What's the common denominator over those seasons? I know you know.

"Why did they score on that first shot though is the question. Its called mix up in coverage because forwards are late picking up guy coming back.Lomberg cut across and Carlo had him but when he left the puck there Carlo let him go to get out on that guy with puck setting up to shoot .We know Lomberg tapped it in open cage but if Carlo is able to continue on in coverage there with him then that goal never happens. Its really important the Bruins clean this stuff up because they are not type team that will out firepower playoff teams.Anyways that is how I saw that. They aldo started the game with McAvoy icing the puck instead of taking one more stride but he saw the hit coming.Little things are big things with this type team if you want to compete with so called better teams."

I don't think that was on the forwards, it was on Lohrei. It was a 2on2 cross, and when Carlo left his guy to step up on the puck carrier, Lohrei should have picked up Lomberg. 2on2 crosses are confusing and require communication and practice. There was a game there other night where there was a cross and the puck carrier had a breakaway from the top of the circle because of it.
Carlo should have either gone to Zary and left Lumberg to Lorhei on the 2-2 or stayed with Lumberg after the shot. That is a set play to create confusion that ironically Sacco teaches skating right at the D. I agree better communication was needed but pretty good play and some luck.

Same.

I liken their power play woes to the Flyers goalie woes. Somehow neither team has been able to solve their problem frustrating fans season after season.
Simple fix. Pass the puck quickly to the OPEN man and shoot to score. Stop trying to force a pass to the one guy everyone in the world knows is the shooter and are ready for his one timer. That's why PP2 is effective, because the other team doesn't know who to cover or who will shoot and they go to the net front!

Absolutely Lohrei was puck watching instead of reading the play. Given how the rebound came right to Lomberg, it may not have mattered, but Lohrei made zero attempt at going towards Lomberg when it was 100% the correct read.

I watched the game in an entirely different way.

When they went down 3-1, I put down my phone and went to the fireplace room and had a nice glass of wine and listened to the game like the old days.

It seemed to work. . . .

Ladyfan I did not quit. . . . .

Gutsy comeback win.
First period they got outplayed big time (even though they won every faceoff!), but hung in nice for a road game.

Felt Sacco played the same two units all overtime, but paid off w/ the Pasta goal. So what to I know haha.
Good timeout call by Sacco also after those back to back goals.

Very strong game from the Bruins thought Coyle all though not on the score sheet had a hell of a game as did Zadorov and Lindholm against their former mate., Pasta was buzzing all game, but what I liked the most was this teams body language, they never looked defeated or discouraged. I really believe they've turned the corner.

On another note I think Brazeau wasn't at his best and obviously neither did Sacco as he dropped down to the 4th line. I wouldn't mind seeing Wahlstrom slot in there against the Oil.

Bruins need Elias to turn it on and do this every game going forward. Team will look completely different with him firing on all cylinders..

I am glad as that didn't seem like something you would do!
