Browns issue is you can’t hit what you can’t catch.
Does he check? Because the games I've watched he's brought none of that edge
Does it make sense to bring up Merkolov to pay 6-8 minuted on the 4th line? He is better off playing hefty minutes in ProvidenceBrown instead of Merkulov I hate this effing team this year

That's because last year they had 7 top six players even before the trade deadline. Talent makes things work, regardless. This year they have 5 top six with Potsy out there, and with him gone, it's razor thin. And that's relying on a 19 year old rookie to boot. The absence of Bergeron is absolutely a factor.
Monty's near-compulsive line juggling has bothered me basically from the start of his tenure, but it worked so well last year that it seemed completely unreasonable to criticize it. Now though, it seems to have gone into over-drive, and the more the team has struggled over the last month or so the more he changes things up, and it really feels like the resulting lack of consistency and inability of the team to build some stability, chemistry and identity are a part of the problem.
Jim surely knows better than I do but my two cents is he'd be better off focusing less on changing up the combinations to generate something and spending more time refining the team's tactics. How exactly is the question, but that's what he's paid for.
Who would you put on 4th line. Brown only activated to play 4th lineThe Bruins might as well see what they have in Merk, who has been their best player in PRO. Not only on the score sheet, but in terms of creativity and developing his defensive game.
They might as well because as presently constituted, Boston is going nowhere in a transitional season. I do not see the acquisition of a significant upgrade at C, because the Bruins don't have the assets to swing that deal.
Finally, you don't bring up Georgi and play him on the fourth line.
You see what he can do as a third line center for a few games, and then see what he can do on the wing.
The Bruins have nothing to lose and much to gain by giving Merkulov a look in the dead of December/January.
I'm not sure there's a better time to bring him up than while Poitras is at the WJC. Surely Heinen can play 4th line over Brown and Merk can get some top 9 mins?Does it make sense to bring up Merkolov to pay 6-8 minuted on the 4th line? He is better off playing hefty minutes in Providence
No he doesn’t. Sorry that was sarcasm that didn’t come thru too well over text.Does he check? Because the games I've watched he's brought none of that edge
I thought that was sarcasm but wasn't completely sure.No he doesn’t. Sorry that was sarcasm that didn’t come thru too well over text.
If they’re bringing Brown in to replace a guy on the 4th line, then I’m left scratching my head. The 4th line has probably been their best line these past few games.

Who says he has to play on the forth line it’s not like Boston has an over abundance of offensive players on the top lines.Does it make sense to bring up Merkolov to pay 6-8 minuted on the 4th line? He is better off playing hefty minutes in Providence
Do we have the expected lines somewhere?
Yea I have watched Brown close when he played and definitely works Hard & responsible defensively. Heck even saw him set someone up for open net and they muffed it.Beecher I think it was.Anyhow, if this game came down to him dressing or not then we are in trouble regardless.15 hits in 9 games.
Pretty much the same per game average as Lauko & Steen.
Brown can also take faceoffs and has a better defensive game than either of them.
Yea Debrusk 3 goals is not much to catch.Hoping he gets it going.Who says he has to play on the forth line it’s not like Boston has an over abundance of offensive players on the top lines.
Not even any pregameDamn clock must be stuck in slow motion.
