Guy who got waived from a playoff team gets immediately rocketed to the 2nd line and stays there while having 2 mid games where he's a minus 2 whereas a guy who has played well on the club all season, been physical and tenacious but had one bad game against Nashville (where he didn't even collect a minus) gets removed from the lineup.
If we are completely healthy Eye is probably on the Moose, i don't mind seeing what different players can do right now with so many injuries and sickness. Having said that i would probably put him back in next game.

Ideally anyone not name Baron or Lowry from the bottom 6 should be playing at their skill and ability level on the Moose!

Sucks Helly has the flu, or whatever the hell that has been going around. Nice to see Ville get in, and I'll be at the game tonight so it will be nice to see what he does. Not a fan of Kuhlman in the top 6, as he is where Scheifele's and Perfetti's offense goes to die. Much prefer Barron moved up.

I'm feeling very vindictive today.

Obviously you don't want Helle out especially with the year he's having. Hope he's just a bit under the weather. I am not so pessimistic about our chances though. Helle has been amazing this year but I don't think that the team needs anything but average goaltending to win their fair share of games.

I hope to god the injury/ illness bug runs its course for us. I am amazed we're still doing so well despite it

I wonder what he did? I think maybe Bowness saw a bit of drop in hunger with him and wants to send a message?

There's a reason my signature on this website is still "League average sv% or bust"

No idea what the fascination is with the new guy. He is completely disrupting that lines chemistry. One hes carrying the puck too much in the nz which takes Cole's zone entries largely our of play. He's down low holding the puck too much h when you want your playmakers holding it. He doesn't have any concept for creating passing lanes for his teammates forcing dumps on transition. He's just a poor player. Put a guy like Gus or even Stenlund up as they understand spacing better.

So much going against us. I’d like to see Bones switch up Kuhlman early if things aren’t going our way. I think if we have a lead that he’s ok on that line. He doesn’t help create offense but he can skate and hustle and get the puck moving in their direction.

As others have said Harkins, Mikey E and a few others would probably give us better chances for that line to score. Too bad some of our youngest top prospects aren’t ready for a shot with the big club. This is the year to get a crack at the lineup and potentially in a prime spot.

Maybe Ville can play the hero tonight?
If the Jets beat the bruins later this week I think we will all die of shock. Assuming that game is a disaster we all have to just move on and forget it. We’re expected to get pounded with this line up and that is likely what will happen.

Beat the Sens to keep Dallas in our sights. We could really use a stumble from them now.

I am thinking for the Bruins game we just ride with Rittich don't play the top guys too much, chalk that up as a guaranteed loss and just focus on keeping Helle and everyone fresh for the Caps. I know it goes against all analytics to do that but beating Boston in Boston esp with the injuries we have is pretty much impossible. May as well try to salvage something from the Washington game, which should be more winnable even if that's going to be very hard.

I'm done with Harkins as a non-fourth line option.

He's a perfectly acceptable NHL fourth-line player, but I'm sick of seeing him next to Lowry.

Maybe that's too harsh, but he doesn't seem to connect with his linemates at an elite level, which is fine if your job is to manage minutes, defend well, and beat other 3rd or 4th line players whether it be physically or mentally, but when you're next to Lowry, I expect a bit more.

Again, that feels too harsh - maybe he's just not comfortable with being that player right now.

It is kinda weird how Kuhlman got put up with Scheifele and Perfetti right away , i'd see what happens tonight and if that line doesn't have a little success tonight switch Kuhlman off with Harkins or Barron

Why do we need the rest the top guys, they are going into Christmas break? Its hockey the game of puck luck and bounces, even the biggest underdogs win about 1/3 of the time.

what are you basing this on? the barron-lowry-harkins line seems to be performing just fine

I like Harks as a feel-good story, and he's a great AJLer, but I pretty much see him as a tweener at this point. Big Sak, Axel F and Barron offer more at this point, and I'd even give Jeff Malott a shot, just for playing his arse off all season long.

Whenever I hear the Jets get a chance, and I see Harkins get the puck, I just expect the chance to fizzle out. Maybe it's just sip getting to me.

EDIT: This thread also basically guarantees he'll make me eat my words.

Just because we are so shorthanded right now what about moving Lowry up with Scheifele and Perfetti , he might create some room out there for Scheifele and Perfetti.

Interesting thought - go super top heavy - how many minutes could we expect out of our top-two lines in that case?

I'd be worried about surviving 30 minutes with the rest of the team.

can say that about many of our players through parts of the year. the line as a whole has been performing fine. 3GF and 1GA in 60 mins together, as well as controlling ~60% of the shot-attempts or chances. i think that's solid enough. harkins scoring efficiency has been decent enough for a 3rd liner (in-line with saku m's, and superior to ajf).

for reference, barron-lowry-saku was 3 GF 2 GA at about 32% & 37% of the shot attempts or chances.

i wasn't high on harkins but i think that line has been fine given the injuries. i think he's a superior option to AJF or Gus at least. not sure if Gagner is a good stylistic fit on that line.

Just because we are so shorthanded right now what about moving Lowry up with Scheifele and Perfetti , he might create some room out there for Scheifele and Perfetti.
We have no suitable 3c alternative
