On NHLN they said we are perfect on winning games on the same day as the month. Like tonight was 12/12, I guess we haven't lost on a game on these type of days in a long time.
So if we ever get a Winter Classic game, we're gonna win!

McBackup looked shaky in the first, and I didn't notice McBackup's McBackup being anything other than solid. I hope we let DoubleMcBackup have the next start.

I agree that Howson does deserve kudos for pulling the trigger on that trade. That trade and the front office changes (unfortunately for him) completely changed the culture of the franchise. Continue this play and blend in Good Bob, Horton and Gaborik, this club will be extremely fun to watch. The line combination will be interesting.
Foligno-Johansen-Horton
Umberger-Anisimov-Gaborik
Calvert-Dubinsky-Atkinson
Comeau-MacKenzie-Letestu
Boll, Tropp
That's a legitimate lineup that can play any style. I like what I'm seeing. Let's just hope that McBackup isn't hurt badly. If he is, GMJK has to make a move.

Who the **** tracks that stat? So, we've won every 10/10, 11/11, 12/12, 2/2, 3/3, and 4/4 game in the history of the franchise? Someone has too much time on their hands
Made it interesting after the 1st. Johansen bared down the last 3 or 4 shifts he had and put the game away. That's a lot like what we did last season.
Now... The Blues... Uhh, there's a challenge.
You sending Jenner to the minors? Honestly, it wouldn't hurt him to get 1st line minutes for awhile in Springfield.
From the moment McKenna stepped on the ice he was completely composed. He looked good to me.
I agree, and he was also a great interview, postgame. In fact, all three were good - Dubi, McKenna, and Cam. I liked Dubi referring to the goalie situation as, "Mac Squared"!

Boll will play over Letestu if we are totally healthy, no way Boll is a healthy scratch, despite most on this board thinking he brings nothing, he is an important part of the forecheck, that will be a great 4th line when he gets back.

Frankly I forgot about him. Other than his one big game in Montreal, I really haven't noticed him. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, he seems to handle his business fairly well. I'm just not sure once we're completely healthy that there will be a spot for him.
As for Boll, I think he is a necessary evil. I just don't think he's an every game necessary evil. I thought that his extension was fine, but the money was obscene. For what he brings, he's being paid probably 700K too much.
All of this said, I think there's a decent size trade upcoming. Just my hunch, there's just too many on the roster.
The team sure doesn't miss whatever it is he brings. He's lost his spot to Tropp and the he's going to have to re-earn his spot back in the lineup. I don't see him ever playing when Gaborik/Horton return.
Gonna take more than glass checks and a hugfest hopefully.
I'll never understand why everyone on this board has always been down on Boll. That's ridiculous to say he lost his spot to Tropp, he hasn't brought much of anything, other than getting the crap kicked out of him against a middleweight. You honestly think Richards is going to healthy scratch his longest tenured player, a captain, for a guy that's been with the team for a few weeks??
He's never been a healthy scratch in his career, that I can remember anyway...Letestu was a healthy scratch for the first handful of games last year and will be again. He's invisible and we need the forechecking more than someone with 1 goal.

Given how the team is playing, why shake it up? Maybe I take Tropp out for him but MacKenzie and Letestu are key parts of our team, especially our penalty kill. They aren't coming out for "hard forechecking."
Can't argue that Letestu has been pretty disappointing this year but looking at his ice time (15 minutes a game, most PK minutes by a forward), it's pretty clear Richards still trusts him.
