I’m not at all sold on Igor. I’m very fearful he will be chronically injured. Another avenue where Lundqvist flourished: the guy has never had any major injuries (not counting his fluke injuries like his heart or neck).
Why is everyone out to ruin my fantasy!

Not trying to lol. Just he’s already pulled his groin more than once. Abs if anyone knows the repair and inflammatory process, it really is never going to be as strong as it was pre-injury. It’s possible, but as a goalie?

They're very different players. And I do think McDonagh had a way of shutting down opposing players with such authority in his prime. He was also on a much less offensively skilled team.

But yes, Fox has a higher ceiling and will go down as the best defensemen on the team since Leetch. I also think he has potential to play at this level for longer since he doesn't play as physical of a game as McD
McDonagh relied on his speed (when he still had it) and explosiveness. So, I agree too, Fox's game is different

I’d rather go with a 3 of Mika Strome Chytil and save money avoid blowing up what we’ve built than go get Eichel. 10 mil for what? To have to give up Mika and Strome? Not to mention what would go back in the trade? I’d rather have the depth
I was a big Eichel guy under any circumstance but I agree—it’s getting harder to move on from both up front. Idk. I don’t think gutting the club is worth it.

Mika first 15 games 3 pts

Mika last 16 games 17 pts

And his one timer and first touch is coming back. This is who he is. Not the guy we saw in the first 15

Hopefully the stars are aligning for a late run to the postseason. Zibby returns to form, Shesty gets healthy, ect.

Would DQ have moved Kakko up tonight ? I doubt it.

Already makes Knoblauch a better coach
I can joke about Quinn with the best of them, but I think it's circumstantial evidence. Others have pointed out already that Kakko had spent time earlier in the season on that line and looked bad. Zibanejad had been getting better before Quinn went down. The timing just makes it seem Knob has the midas touch. Other than tonight, the power play has remained abysmal yet Knob has rolled the same unit. Miller's game is still shaky. People are just heating up at a time Knob is behind the bench. Pucks are now going in. We're still seeing over passing and cross crease prayer passes. Quinn has his failings for sure, but he wouldn't have line blendered the way he did if the team hadn't been a holy hell the first two months and rode on the backs of Blackwell, Rooney, and PDG.

Strome has legit chemistry with Panarin. 26 points in 31 games for Strome. 0.84 a game. Guy gets a lot of crap.

He's playing so much better than he was at the start of the season. He was playing like a passenger, just floating around waiting for Panarin to do something.

Once he started skating and forechecking and retrieving pucks and helping to move things around, he and Panarin started clicking better and he started getting more points.

As much as he has chemistry with Panarin I think it's also apparent that he has to move his feet and participate in that line and not just sit there and watch Panarin. He's a pretty skilled player and all and he works well when he's actually playing and I like his game right now. I hated it at the start of the year.

On the one hand we played better than a 1 goal game + empty net. On the other hand, there were times they just got sloppy and lazy. We might have lost this game with Hutton in net, think about that.

Dunno, Tokarski pulled the standard “Rangers can’t score on the backup goalie,” magic for half the night. Might have had more against Hutton earlier.
