I would much rather have digiuseppe on the 4th line over Lemieux when he’s back. This fourth line can’t be trusted defensively they shouldn’t be dressed.
I don't mind a rotation on the 4th line.

Lemmy, Howden, Rooney, Blackwell, Gauthier, PDG all battle it out for 3 spots. You play bad, get in back of the line.

Our 4th line can't be a detriment.

AV coasted on the backs of literally the best (Lundqvist) and second best (Luongo) goalies of the generation. He was absurdly blessed when it came to goaltending.

And true to his fart sniffer self he still used to blame the goalies when they would lose. What a tool he was. Although I’m sure he thinks he made them better lol.

I do feel bad for Lundqvist though. You give him Mika, Fox and even just 75% of a Panarin between 2012-2016 and he wins a Cup no question.

I think they win one if they just have one of those guys.

They probably win multiple if they had all 3.

Such an accurate AV description

"Get to the net", yes now do it every game please. That's how you score in this league.

In contrast to the kid line which just does board work 99% of the time. Laf Fil Kaapo simply does not play to move to puck to a threatening area right now. All 3 players are basically drones doing chip chase and puck battle. As good as KZB is, I think we need to give Fil a good winger and give Laf someone other than Rooney.

That's why the kid line was a stupid idea to begin with. Reminds me of a few AV 4th lines that would grind and cycle along the boards and make zero attempt to play offense.

I used to say that people were severely underrating 2012-14 Mac truck McDonagh when they said Fox is already better than him but now I'm at the point where it's pretty much undeniable.

Coming from the last of the hardcore 2012 Torts Black and Blueshirts for lifers---- that is very hard for me to admit.

He was never better offensively but he was an amazing defender. I was in the same boat as you tho and I think maybe I agree all things considered.

Knoblauch is more consistent than Quinn. It doesn't become a chinese fire drill with the lines.

Is it not logical that consistency breeds consistency? Like the saying goes, team takes on the personality of the coach.

They're very different players. And I do think McDonagh had a way of shutting down opposing players with such authority in his prime. He was also on a much less offensively skilled team.

But yes, Fox has a higher ceiling and will go down as the best defensemen on the team since Leetch. I also think he has potential to play at this level for longer since he doesn't play as physical of a game as McD

Lundqvist getting signed as a backup when he's 41 behind Igor when we go on our miracle tear in 2023
I’m not at all sold on Igor. I’m very fearful he will be chronically injured. Another avenue where Lundqvist flourished: the guy has never had any major injuries (not counting his fluke injuries like his heart or neck).

Knoblauch has done good work communicating with the players and getting them to a better place on and off the ice since he came up a week ago. Mika has been completely healed physically, mentally, and spiritually. Kakko has been promoted to the top 6 and played his best hockey.
