No...you should let it go . Your reply only serves to incite and for no other purpose . My reply was hockey/Ranger/DeAngelo related . Some of us actually can still talk about his good and bad points as a Ranger without knocking him at every opportunity when his name is mentioned . Maybe you should just skip any reply where his name is mentioned ...most of us know he is gone and we also know of the Cup win in 94 but we still discuss it .

Ya but why bother, he's never playing here again..... there's absolutely no point, the cup win was a highlight, the tony deangelo story is definitely not.

In my opinion I think that’s the reason he looks lost at times. Whatever is said to him, which probably something about playing defensive makes him question what he’s doing instead of following his instincts.

Fair enough. I’d look at Buch though.... look at how complete of a player he has become. It took a lot of hard love and 3 years to get here though. I hope Laf comes around sooner and I think his ceiling is higher- but he is a work in progress.

I think we are seeing the work now. The progress will come.

KK is a similar example. He already is trusted late in games against the best team in hockey. Last year- no way. KK needs to grow into his body and work on skating to be better offensively.

I fully expect both to be scoring a min of 25/55 in 2 years with a ceiling of 40/100 in 5. To get there- they both have to learn to be complete players.

I think the kid line just needs a few more games. Up to this point, they had looked like three players playing next to each other. Last night, they started showing signs of coming together as a line. Hopefully, it’s a turning point for them as a unit.

i agree! Let them play and learn together. Chytil has been holding them back a little but I say stay the course. Our future first line! It’s a fun time to be a Ranger fan!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

It’s not that I don’t like the kid line. I do. My issue is with putting them together because you don’t have a development plan and don’t want them playing in a bigger spot.

Then taking mins away when they of course struggle at times.

if you are saying we like them together ok fine but then live with their warts and play them real mins. Don’t put them together so you have an excuse to bury them
You have to earn your minutes. Give them time. They had a couple of shifts last night keeping the puck deep in the O-zone. But they been giving it up in the neutral zone a lot more often. By comparison, the Zibad line had the puck in deep for most of their shifts. Hence the extended icetime.

It's rare for Kreids to play 20 minutes or more. But he did in both games in Wash. I think the reason Kreids doesn't get that much icetime most nights, is because he is not that effective. It probably effects his speed and endurance. In the 6 games he played 20 minutes this season, he has one point. It's most likely why he averages 17 minutes TOI the last 5 years.

After being hyped up to play the Eastern Leaders, we cannot take our foot off the pedal. Sabres have lost 13 in a row. A letdown is almost a certainty after playing those games in Washington. We cannot take Buffalo lightly. This game will be huge if we are to string some wins together and get back in the playoff race.

I find it strange this year with the shortened schedule and the divisional play, that teams can go on streaks like the Caps did winning 7 in a row. Cause every game has that playoff type atmosphere. Seeing the same team so often, really gives it that short series feel. But teams do get swept in the playoffs, so,... I guess it's not that strange.

"Why bother" ? How can we have a conversation on the faults/cause of the 2021 Ranger PP sucking when we leave out a key ingredient for the success of it last year ? If it is not something you want to discuss ...then just don't don't tell the rest of us to let it go because it no longer suits your tastes.

So many opinionated people on the main boards that have no idea about certain players but have strong opinions on them and if you are a Rangers fan who watch them all the time and have a better opinion on the player, you're clearly biased. Even though we must have the most pessimistic fanbase in the world.

Their opinion is completely based on reputation and pedigree.

A little late to this discussion and I might be in the minority but I'd bench Lemieux before Howden.

Gauthier needs to play. He could be a very servicable player if only he was given a little direction. What is the issue here? Is he not coachable? I can't understand how the staff doesn't see what the rest of us here see.

Yesterday someone said 'Byfield RIGHT NOW is better than McDavid is RIGHT NOW'.

I have no words for this level of insanity.

No more games with the Caps for a while, please. I felt my life slowly getting sucked out of my body these two nights.
It's called anxiety and being REALLY involved in the game as if you are on the ice yourself. Your post is EXACTLY how I felt after these games as well. I was exhausted by the end of the night. Not sure how much life I have in me because of.......lol
Btw, we play them next week 2x

I might be in the minority but I like the idea of the kids on one line, they can grow together and its possible that this is our first line in 2 or 3 years, they may as well build some chemistry together. I found they were each defering to the vets too much anyway so maybe this way they just play their game.
Yes, and absolutely sure this is Quinn's mindset. Thoight this should be from the beginning, with ANY ONE of them placed on PP. Again, I go back to my gut feeling when I saw KAKKO and CHYTIL playing ping pong. BONDING at its best.
Also, wasnt "deferring" was what Buch always did? He's finally feeling like HE is a bigger part of the team, and they count on him to score, because he shoots MORE.

Aside from the way the Chytil line was handled and the Howden fest, I'm very, very, very pleased with the way this team played in Washington as a whole.

I said before the series that every time this team looked like they were about to turn a corner this year they fell flat, this time they didn't. Now of course it means nothing if they lose to Buffalo tomorrow but at least it looks like there is some light at the end of the tunnel even if the playoffs are a pipe dream at this point.

Just close out the season as strong as you can and let this be a stepping stone towards next year where hopefully there will be some semblance of normalcy and a stronger group to make a significant push.
We should all buy pipes then.

They really need to get this PP figured out though. Shuffle shit around until you find something that works because it can't get a lot worse than its been.
I dont like the idea of shuffling things around, u need your best players on the PP. Not sure why Buch is on PP2 either (someome else said) but ANYTIME a PP goes stale.......getting back to basics, usually works. Shoot the puck BARRY, shoot the puck!

Dont think its Chytil though. He has been a bull, forechecking like a mad man. Just hasnt come together yet. They each have great individual talents obviously, but when they succeed at forechecking and stealing pucks is when they will get going.
Cohesive line rushes need to be worked on......me thinks, but even that cannot happen if they never have the puck.

You have that backwards, should be 'I can't understand how the people here don't see what the staff sees."

I’m pleasantly surprised with Hajek. I think he has won a spot for the foreseeable. He and Smith are a fine third pairing, in my book.
Thought I miss ADA, having a Smith-Hajek third pairing might be better overall.
Smith stinks. Hajek is playing very solid and carrying that pairing. If Libor stays in the plans, Nils or Braden would be a great partner.

We are in a murky situation where they are trying to win now and get a playoff spot and as well build for the future. I think it has less to do with teaching them a lesson or burying them than it does with trying to win the game at hand and mixing them into lines only muddies the other lines at this point. I think when we play buffalo, NJ, and especially in home games etc they will get their mins, games vs boston or Washington will be leaned on the vets especially on the road, Washington was trying to match the ovie line against them all night last night, its basically why their mins dropped.
I agree that this is what we are doing. I am of the mind that we should be developing our kids; winning games be damned. if we win, great. But that cannot be our focus in a year where we have so much dead cap space and the divisions are as they are. We are still building; focus on building.

The "key ingredient" as you call it is not available. We need to figure this out with our current assets. Let's discuss how good the PP was with Jagr and Nylander. Same thing and not helpful.

It is huge! Tonight, we will find out how seriously they take themselves leading to where they wanna go. Take the perverbial foot off, and taking Buffalo for granted and lose.......well then, forget about the season.
Play well, the kids finally go off (what better team to do that?)
win handedly in regulation and move on to the next game.
Losing to Buffalo early in the season is one thing, losing TONIGHT is something irreparably inexcusable.
