  • Oilers ability to bounce back after a loss

  • Oilers 5v5 dominance

  • Oilers team defense

  • Oilers coughing up leads

  • Oilers poor special teams play

  • The play of Walman and Klingberg

I feel like a kid at Christmas time waiting for Ekholm to get back into the lineup.

On the one hand, I'm kinda hoping the Oil can win G3 while he rests and gets a bit healthier, because I really want him in the SCF. On the other, I really don't wanna give home-ice advantage right back to the Stars on Sunday, so I'd love to have Ekholm back.

I think the Stars are gonna start G3 with that same push that they showed right after the Oil got their 3rd goal last night.

I felt like the Stars were biding their time last night, waiting for Skinner to implode, even when it was 1-0 and 2-0, but the second the Oilers got their 3rd the Stars opened the game right up.

They might not get as aggressive, but I thought that they were extremely passive until they were down 3-0.

I mean probably, but they've had pushed, this team defends strongly and with enough conviction to weather those, especially 5v5, unless they're going to reinvent their game, Dallas is in tough, just like Vegas was.

Special teams and Klingberg for me. Also the bipolar nature of Stu's game. I expected the poor, but in no way would I have seen him as being tied for the most shutouts in the playoffs. More of that please!

The Oilers D has been so good. Mostly its been their shutouts. Skinner did make the miraculous stick stop yesterday. But the degree of mopping up around net by D has been next level. I've never seen better around the net defending, in general. Or not with the Oilers anyway. Thing is you can't play a perfect D game everytime out.

Laughable. Lazarus makes Oilers media look professional. Not sure there is a larger homer in hockey journalism than him.

Also I guess X-Rays in Dallas take 24-36 hours to get back from the photo lab.

My guess is Droopy Hintz wouldn't be much good in any rodeo.

I can't take credit for the Droopy tag, somebody else said it.

Whats with this guy though. he looks like the poster boy for insomnia. Everytime I see his face it looks like he hasn't slept in days..

The last game was weird: Skinner looked totally off his game and ridiculously lucky early on, then made amazing saves and looked like he deserved the shutout as the game progressed. It's all mental with him. And that scares me... I hope he's got some confidence after that win and stays in "Game 4 mode."

He made 2 incredible stick saves he got a piece of Johnson breakaway with his stick as well

Ah yes, the Hintz slash and the DeBoer press conference follow-up.

I'm of the opinion that if you're already resorting to manufacturing bulletin board material by calling out a slightly vicious retaliatory slash that never would have happened in the first place had Hintz just skated toward the play like almost everyone else did (ie, he got Darwined), then you're already losing the mental aspect of the series.

On that note, props to The Knob for his cool-as-a-cucumber response to DeBoer's appeal to the refs.

There is a tiny part of me would love to see DeBoer utterly melt down during the course of a series against the Florida Panthers, but the Stars are going to need to play a lot better than they did against Winnipeg to have a proper chance of making it past the Oil.
