Unless Pitlick is a little banged up, I was hoping Drouin would replace Hoffman and not Pitlick.

I feel like Drouin would be a better fit for Dach and Monahan because Jo can skate and I think he can keep up with them instead of Hoffman, who is a step slower (not just skating, but in his play style).

He's an "extra volume shooter". I really don't like how he turned quality into quantity since he joined the WHL. Something stink about that.
I think he's developing bad habits because he's so much above everyone else's skill level... he's trying to do everything himself, and those habits carried into the WJC this summer.

I think that will change at the NHL level, else he's going to discover real fast that he can't do what he wants on the ice.

Disclaimer: this is not a diss on him. It's simply an observation.

You gotta keep him in. Not sure why Drouin was kept out of game 1 either. Those vets need icetime. I can't recall the last time a veteran was a healthy scratch and rebounded well.
Yesterday, I saw a tweet from a journalist who said that Drouin was only in 90% game shape. Both Hughes and MSL suggested the same thing when they both brought up the injury (last year) and missed time during camp.

I doubt he got the missing 10% in a week time...

The league knows everything about Mike Hoffman. Prior to Bergevin handing him an incredibly stupid contract he was on a PTO with St Louis.
WTF was Bergevin and his pro scouts thinking?

Remember before they signed Toffoli, there was a report saying Habs wanted to sign Hoffman. Hoffman was delaying his decision and waited for other offers. Habs then ended up signing Toffoli and Hoffman ended up waiting too long and only got a PTO (which he turned to a 1-year deal).

To be fair, I think the Habs had intentions on signing both Hoffman and Toffoli. I don't think this was a case of Hoffman being Plan A and Toffoli was Plan B.

Can Slafkovsky get a few shift with Dach or Monahan ? Or can we at least get Andy on his line, they had good chemistry

I'm still an official card carrying member of the old Cult of Eller so I'll for sure be watching tonight. :)

Peo
Fully expecting a loss tonight, but it would be pretty neat to see Jackeye give Wilson an ice nap.

Wilson is not a junior player. I'de rather see Xhekaj focus on hockey. The last thing we want is for him to develop into the next Mark Borowiecki.
