I think he needs to go to Laval to do his whirling. I think he may develop his skills better there than the OHL where he can just out muscle guys to produce.

AHL would be fine too.

OHL would be great for his confidence too. Let him go there, let him dominate and be the man.... he just turned 18, and he has so many raw tools that he needs to hone...

Hopefully be can do that in the AHL, too.

I just think OHL would be better. Slower yes, but long term, it would definitely not hurt.

You think it's best for him to be in the NHL right now? LOL

Do you think Steve Yzerman would have Slaf in the NHL right now?

Interesting.

Show us what you got, Drou-Drou
Yes I believe Yzerman would have him in the NHL now for many reasons. One being that you can’t seriously compete with a bunch of rundown vets.

Some teams already graduated 2 forwards and have 2 bubble forwards biding their time. If it’s not Slaf it’s RHP or Ylonen in Montreal.

Caps are an old one line team without Backstrom.

But they will probably win because we're tired.

F the Caps.
The Caps are also playing their third in as many nights so that won't fly as an excuse. Not to mention this is by far the worst Caps roster I've seen in at least a decade.

My god lol MSL just said it’s

Monahan-Dach-Dadonov

And

Drouin-Evans-Hoffman

Good luck to Evans.
At least, Dadonov's advanced stats are good compared to Hoffman's and having both Drouin/Hoffman on the same line makes it easier to shelter both of them.

Still, poor Evans.

Hoffman has many lives.
He made that one good pass to Gallagher leading to one of our like 3 scoring chances last game. It's a really low bar for who gets to stay in the lineup after last game

What's the over/under on Drouin giving a real effort tonight?
This is the last time I care if he does or not to be honest. If he looks like trash I don't think i'll bother to complain or think too much of it going forward

I didn't read the GDT or PGT so likely posted a few times already but the Habs couldn't score last night but could somehow shoot the puck through the camera hole in the glass. :)

Drouin is apparently slotting in for Pitlick according to Engels. More info at 5pm when MSL have his pre-game media availability.

Habs had no morning skate today. Only Monty (he should be the starter), Pezetta and Pitlick went on the ice.

I'd take out dadonov or Hoffman, but okay. I suppose it's political with dadonov too because they will want to build his value as an expiring contract.

Either way, 4-1 caps.

Another breakaway yesterday. I don’t remember any from before this year off hand lol. I would pull a Danault/Tatar and just converge towards the net anytime Gally is near the puck for a while if I were Slafkovsky, he never passed it when he was scoring 30 either.

Expressed planned expiry by management lets me enjoy the horrible hockey with a sense of optimism.

Gallagher is definitely moving better than last year. Just hope he can get some semblance of his hands back prior to the covid injury.

He's really never been the same since he came back for the covid playoff run.

They should have had a carnie behind that glass, offering you a free spin or a choice of dollar store fluffy animals.

If you choose the free spin, you get to slap out one of Dadonov, Hoffman or Armia in the back of the head.

The third game in four nights. They did not play yesterday.

Monahan-Suzuki-Caufield
Slafkovsky-Dach-Anderson
Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher
Drouin-Evans-Dadonov
I support these, I think Monahan is a great LW with size and skill for those guys
And the size of that 2nd line speaks for itself
Obviously would like Pezz there instead of Drouin

But I'm surprised they scrapped the Dadonov-Dvorak-Gallagher line , seemed unbreakable all training camp

True, but? Even the most experienced and talented D in the NHL have had more than a difficult time containing him. Even to this day. Either way? As long as the kids learn from it? I’m fine as a fan.
No doubt, I just meant it as this will be a big test for our young defense. Ovechkin is a one-of-a-kind type of player.
