Höglander isn’t even the first Swede to do that goal in the WJC. Robin Figren did it back in 2007.
Agreed. I wish they would change it. It has brought us multiple golds though..That penalty song is sooooooo ****ing annoying already
Annunen covers so much net
Funny. In my eyes they all have played quite baddly.Thomson is so bad. One of the worst defenders for Finland tonight.
Mostly why he has been so good this season. His positioning is pretty nice as well. These 2 aspects already make him a solid #1 in Liiga at his young age.Annunen covers so much net
Everyone with a working pair of eyes agreesSwe commentators: Sweden is dominating the game, puck possesion, shots etc. Agree/disagree?
They're right imo. Annunen wasn't challenged as much this period but it was still pretty apparent that SWE is pressing the play better and getting chances up close.Swe commentators: Sweden is dominating the game, puck possesion, shots etc. Agree/disagree?
Sit down Svechnikov
Back to you Svechnikov!
I get triggered when people refer to that as "a Svechnikov style goal". Yes, he was the first to pull it off in the NHL. Doesn't mean it wasn't done before (in a bigger game in fact).
It triggers me too lol, people are acting like he invented it.
I never said Svech invented it. But Hoglander and Svech have been trading lacrosse goals for the last while. It’s been fun to watch.
Funny. In my eyes they all have played quite baddly.
And I think that was a 6-1 goal vs Denmark.
Svechnikov literally proves that the move works in NHL and with nearly no speed at all. No chief, this ain't it. It has been just underused as all hell and that's why the myth of NHL defenders being able to defend against it was born.To be clear — Svechnikov’s move is different than Hoglander’s.
There’s a reason we don’t see “Michigan” or Hoglander style goals in the NHL... they get broken up by the defense or stopped by the goalie.
