Auston Matthews is the best player on the ice and it doesn't even seem close.

Babcock needs to find a way to give him more ice time. I am all for balanced lineup but in a close game, I want Auston Matthews out there as much as possible.

I don't think Babcock is giving Matthews the McDavid treatment yet. While I'm sure his numbers would go up, Babs wants more scoring via committee.

This explains his PP decisions as well.
