Should be be anticipating his own team mates deflecting the puck at him?

If defense never made mistakes and pucks weren't ever accidentally tipped on net, you wouldn't need goaltenders in the first place. Their specific job is to try and cover the net when the defense make mistakes or pucks are tipped on net. That is specifically their job. The good goalies cover for defensive mistakes/tipped pucks far more often than the bad goalies.

But just always saying "it was tipped" or "it was the defense fault" or "he was screened" doesn't make any sense. Because if not for those mistakes, the goaltending job wouldn't even exist.

Lol and some people want to blame Andersen

People were blaming him after he let those two soft goals in early. But he's played a lot better since then and made some big saves. So now that he's been playing well (as opposed to the first 5 minutes), people aren't blaming him any longer. I mean... it's not rocket science.

In that situation, Andersen needs to move out towards the puck recipient so that he's in position when he gets it. He can't cover the post at that point because of a 0.1% play, when that means leaving tons of space in the other 99.9% of those plays.

Plus, the goaltender's job is to cover as much net as possible. A redirection can still get past them and there's pretty much nothing they can do about it from that range.

Lol.

3rd game in and I can’t even enjoy a GDT. Guess I won’t be tuning in anymore. Wish I could read these threads and not have to siphon through idiotic comments!
That guy isn't even a Leafs fan, he just throws a random troll comment in every once in a while. Dude has literally never said anything positive about the Leafs.

What does this exactly mean? You realize the defense can't stop all shots on goal right? Nor are they even trying to. There's a difference between letting a scoring opportunity happen and making a scoring chance get worse
