Just to get him any game action/snaps. I would also assume many teams might take starting QB out when game is over.
Most teams will do that to protect their stud QB. That’s not the case here with Brissett. You leave him in during a blowout. Zero chance Maye sees time behind this embarrassing o-line

Maye is getting his reps in practice and honestly that's where he should be getting them with this o line.

Make no mistake though we're in full dysfunction mode. That happens when you can't protect and weapons are underwhelming. Mayo in a tough spot already. Offense is high school level but there really isn't anything he can do about it. Defense stunk tonight too.

Thing is, you could make the argument that Brissett likes to hold onto the ball too long which will cause sacks, or last year with Mac, his pocket presence sucked which will make an o-line look worse than it is but you can't even say that tonight. The amount of times the ball was snapped and there was immediate pressure was crazy. No qb will survive that over an entire season.

With how much Brissett and even Maye in his limited snaps keep getting hit, they should have kept Zappe so he could be the next crash test dummy if Brissett gets hurt. Also they should just be signing any linemen with a pulse from teams practice squads and hope for the best because i'm not sure how much worse it can get that tonight.
