Great another LHD. Guess we'll have to move Lauzon to right side where he's even worse.
I get what you’re saying but Stastney and Del Gaizo were a great pairing when they played together in Milwaukee and Stastney played his off side when they were together. That being said I doubt this move was made because Stastney is ready to come back. Stastney would probably get his conditioning stint in Milwaukee before being put on the Predators roster.

Defensively-responsible, defensively-oriented #4-#6. Not physical, so relies more on positional play (which is fairly strong) and can get pushed off the puck. Safe in transition and in the offensive zone. Poor at holding the puck in the zone.
I would add that he has a really strong first pass out of the d zone. One of the best dmen we had at starting the transition game.

The more I think about it the more I shake my head. Whatever issues they had with Fabbro have been there since Trotz was announced as GM. So that means Trotz saw it for a year and a half before this offseason.

Why would you sign him to that contract rather than trading him at the draft for a 4th and a case of beer? Yeah sure it ain't much but it's better than nothing.

Could have traded him for a warm puck and a bucket of ice shavings at least.

You are correct, Stastney can play off-hand very well. My hyperbole and cynicism wrote that post.

I am at a loss for words regarding this move, as it has been met with widespread disapproval from our fan base. Any goodwill that NoNeck may have previously garnered during his tenure behind the bench has been completely eroded.

I find it extremely confusing given that players like Schenn and Lauzon continue to see regular ice time. I cannot recall a decision by this organization that has been as heavily criticized by the hockey community as this one.

I've been a staunch supporter of most of GMBT's moves since he started riding left seat with Poile, but I'm starting to lose confidence in whether he actually understands what he's doing right now. If Fabbro is claimed then there is 0 reason why he couldn't have been moved for even a late pick. There has to be something going on with him in the locker room for 3 coaches to draw the same conclusion, but the appearance of incompetence by management is pretty unprecedented

When do we find out who picked him up?

Two coaches, Laviolette played him. That was part of the reasoning for "being able to trade Suban", supposedly.

This organizations incompetence in drafting and developing prospects is getting out of hand. I can't name a good draft pick we've had since Girard. And more often than not, they aren't in the org. Evange has a shot, but I'm worried he is just Craig Smith with better hair and quieter legs.
