We all know Freddy is a slow starter but could it be that rather than the team having lost faith in him, he has also mentally "checked out" on this team after all the off season trade rumours or that he has little to no faith in the players playing in front of him ??

I mean that seems like a rather unlikely scenario just from a personal stand point for him lol why would he stop caring...in a contract year?

Andersen is still a starting caliber goalie, rielly is still a quality 1D, brodie isnt a terrible signing,

Marner+Matthews will get it going and tear the division soon,

Bogo+Simmonds values will be seen most when the offense is chugging and they provide stability and an element of grit+physicality

We are 1-1 people. Relax. Give it till game 15 to see where this team is. That's a bit over 25% of the year.

A lot to like so far and some stuff that needs to be fixed. Andersen wont be a .83 he will be giving a .915 or higher by year end

We should make some rotations to the lineup simply due to using the depth we have gathered and let lower line players fight for spots which will help them all make smarter decisions in Hope's of getting more playing time.

Dont request for MLSE to fire Keefe, Dubas, Shanny after 2 games.

Dont ask for a marner/rielly/andersen trade after 2 games.

Dont say Bogo/Simmonds/Vesey/Joe suck after 2 games.

Just chill out. We will win tonight and be 2-1 in path to winning this division. We have a good team that needs to buy in and play a more structured game.

Good point, perhaps it is more that he is a slow starter then (we hope) and the poor play in front of him rather than confidence or checking out. Compacted schedule so we should know better soon.

That's probably a good thing that your aren't forced to play a prospect 50+ games when he may or may not be ready.

I agree. I would give Thornton a 5 game shot though just to be sure. For 2 games it's been terrible.

I keep hearing about how how smart Dubas, Pridham and Gilman are with cap manipulations and yet they appear to have backed themselves into another corner.
I get it’s a weird year, but is every team dealing with these same issues?
