#CBJ Tortorella: "That was men against boys tonight. We should be embarrassed. I am. I am. Obviously, I’m not doing a good enough job to get the team ready in these type of situations. I’m totally embarrassed by the way we played."

I agree. He is obviously not doing a good enough job. #pokesthebear

The Jackets don't look like they've done much 3 on 3 practice to me.

Actually, Torts said as much after the Pittsburgh game. Said there's no real way to practice it. So much open ice, so different from any other situation, etc.

But our payroll certainly is on par with these two teams.

We have some dead weight on the roster, that's a no brainer that the cap hits are close.

It's easy to talk about skill and such when the other team doesn't show up. We just got done beating them in LA not too long ago.

didn't read thru the thread, but Campbell's penalty early on...AWFUL...that's not sticking up for a teammate, that's way excessive...I'm nearly over that experiment, put him on waivers...

This team is so fragile mentally. It's embarrassing to even be a fan. The worst part is I knew the Kings were going to score with the extra attacker, and I knew the Jackets weren't going to escape OT, yet I continued to watch anyway. Same script, different game. I was dreading the 6 on 5 because I knew exactly what was coming. Gotta love the CBJ and their inability to score on an empty net :shakehead Might as well just save time and award the goal right away.

Oh the neverending pain of being a cbj fan...

I didn't watch, so maybe there's something special about this game... but I don't get all the moaning. They got a point at least. And against a Western Conference team, so it's only 1 dropped point while losing the two to the Kings is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. :dunno:

Team was out-and-out dominated for much of the game, so perhaps the comeback (Jackets led 2-0 in the second) isn't surprising. Indeed, the come-from-ahead loss, compounded by giving up the tying goal in the game's final minutes with the opposition pulling its goalie, is almost expected, which adds either to the frustration or the ambivalence, both of which you're reading in this thread.

It's because they played terribly for most of the game. It wasn't a hard fought loss that you can still respect.

Another tight game. Similar even in the way the team dropped down to defend the lead.

What Tortorella says about the game is another thing but what he has been able to install in such a small time is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

well, Korpisalo was recalled last night...so they're not taking chances

http://theahl.com/stats/transactions.php

He's not quite ready to play in the NHL. Even though his stats look good, he still occasionally fights the puck and has trouble with his angles. Thursday was a great example of this. He was awful in a loss to a horrible Iowa team. Let in 3 terrible goals and looked shaky all night. And the Monsters' D seems to play a little tighter in front of him then they do in front of Anton. Forsberg is much further ahead and is ready to play in the NHL. They must plan on Joonas sitting on the bench as a backup. Or they think he'll play as well in the MTS Centre against the Jets as he did against the Moose. He shut them out 2-0 on October 24th. But I wouldn't count on it.

I had zero issue with that penalty, you have each other's backs, period. We need more of that. I actually think the 4th line has suffered because of Boll's injury. The 4th line was really effective in the 5-6 games leading up to Boll's injury. He would have been a contributer last night

Oddly enough I agree. He wouldn't be a contributor on the score sheet. But you can take it to the bank, that he would give a ****.

I honestly can't help but wonder if anything would be different is Dubi was captain? Would a team with him as their Captain put forth these efforts so often? Maybe he doesn't want to step on Foligno's toes in his first year as Captain. Just thinking out loud honestly bc I can't figure it out. I don't know what kind of leader Nick is, he hadn't (consistently) worn a letter in the NHL before receiving the C. I just don't see him as a "leading the troops" kind of guy?

Dubi just has that fire. But thats another debate...

All I know is that I am sad.

i actually think the 4th line was doing ok outside of Campbell. Chaput and Saad played well together IMO...not that I like Saad on the 4th line, but I'm not Torts.

Once again it comes back to Boll though for you...He being out has very little to do with how the team is going. No one has taken liberties that ppl have stood up for. My issue is Campbell jumping on the dude's back, that is NOT the right way to stand up for someone...

I didn't even notice he was out, so I guess that's my take on his level of contribution this season.

Campbell penalty...well I agree you have to send a message, but every penalty is a factor in a close game.
