I thought it was "done like toast", and then when we played the Habs it was "done like French toast".


It's "down East" and "out West".

Basically if you're not from Ontario you're "down and out".

This is very true and I'm guilty of it. "Out West" is actually apt though and there's some historical significance to saying "down East": the Atlantic provinces are all at the lower end of the St. Lawrence which is basically what we built our country around originally.

Nope. But as I live very far away from Cowtown my only experience with Flames fans is online. I’m sure in person they have a decent level of resentment towards the Leafs like all other Canadian fanbases, but on the internet they all seem to stick to Calgary Puck.

Calgary stunk yesterday. They are a few wins out of a wild card spot. They’ll come out desperate and aware of the national spotlight in Toronto, also Kadri returning with Flames will be his hard playing self.

Need to wear them down and keep their good players asleep. Expect the usual big game from x flames Giordano and Brodie.

Simmonds in to keep the goofy stuff at bay.

Well, take it from me. I have friends and business dealings there and travel there all the time. Anywhere you go it takes about 18 seconds for them to start with the Leafs hate once they find out you're from the GTA. For whatever reason, they're not as vocal online but believe it: they probably hate the Leafs more than anyone.

Simmonds isn't a good enough skater to line people up like that anymore. At least not very often.

And he is not preventing those hits from happening either.

At the same time, we had 4 guys go to Kase's aid... Mostly guys who people call "soft".

How has Timmins been in his 2 games with us?

First shift he was kind of a bit slow in his first game but as the game went on he started to play and you can tell he is a quick thinker and skilled guy. Second game I didn't mind him either, I recall one good shot he made from the point, which was nice to see. I think we have something in him, just need to develop him well.

They're not that good of a team tbh. They're average, lower in the standings than the Kings.
