Don't think so. But it is hard to be sure because of the time he spent in Ontario and Manchester in 2009-10. He only played 3 games in Ontario and none in Manchester but if there was a contract signed he would not be exempt. If there wasn't a contract he would be exempt.

I remember reading an article about Sutter after he was hired and it was talking about him being the kind of coach to not let his teams get pushed around in their own building. I wish I could remember the writer because the Kings are becoming absolutely dominant at home. It's nice having a great road record but it's even better for us fans when the team is winning at home. Of all the trends that have reversed for us this season this one is certainly welcome.

He is not waiver exempt, but not for the reasons you list. It is since this is his 23 year old year. He signed his first contract for 10-11, 09-10 was an ATO (since that was his 20 year old year had he signed at that time the contract year would have counted even in junior/end of the year Ontario). So it's not years since signing first NHL contract. However, he has now hit the 60 game threshold for 23 year olds. He hit it during the season, which is waiver he was exempt at the start of the year.
