Not going through your whole monologue here, just this:

It's not criticism that have some posters aggravated. It's the whole "clode" has to go mantra.

See this ("Until Claude is gone nothing will change") and this ("Florida has handed Sweeney an opportunity on a golden platter. A proven NHL coach...Sweeney needs to be proactive here") for the most recent examples.

There are posters here who simply cannot stand coach Julien behind the bench. And jgatie is correct. They will not be happy until either Sweeneely fires him or he quits. So, it really is that simple.

This.post.should.be.a.sticky.

It's not that we can't stand Clode behind the bench. Some question his desisions. That's all. Some like him too much and stick up for him. I'm up for keeping him but I question some of his line combos, putting on the defensive forwards at 1:30 of a PP, Kreijci on the point when you have Miller with a cannon in the bench, not finding a spot for Spooner and keep him there, defensive cycling, and critiquing certain players and not ALL players.

“There was a lot of problematic things,†Julien said after the loss. “No doubt that the power play could have helped us in the first period and failed to do that. They got to be better. We needed some saves tonight, we didn’t get them, [Khudobin]’s got to be better. A lot of things here that we can be better at and take responsibility but at the same time, you got to move on here and to me it’s one of those nights that had we been smarter from the get go, we would have had a chance.â€

Seems to me like Julien stating facts, which I have little issues with

They have multiple players over the last 2 games that are -5, -4, and -3, yet the guy the coach calls out is the backup goalie, and you don't see that as part of the issue?

And I am not blaming Rask at all but it wasn't one of his better games. Not too concerned about the loss to Colorado considering how the boys gutted out a point against the Caps. They were gassed and Dobby didn't bail them out.

See, to me it's not that Dobby didn't bail them out. It's that this team consistently needs their goalies to bail them out because they can't score more than 2 goals a game. The margin for error is so small, that they need Vezina caliber net play just to remain in the game, and that's not something that's sustainable through an 82 game schedule.

Not it is not, nor is it sustainable to play Rask as much as they have been (did he get hurt or pulled the other night?)

I think this team is going to have a much better second half of the year offense wise than the first half, however I also think their defense will weaken a bit with some players wearing down from the grind (Carlo) some players regressing more towards the mean (Rask)

dont bother reading any of my posts..this about sums up where I'm at quite nicely.

Love Clode, love that he brought us a cup and will ALWAYS love him for that..I want the bruins to do good.

I want some adjustments/changes to be made before the 40-50 game mark that I think will help the team play better. This is now year 3 of the funk we are in so as fans...think it's reasonable to be frustrated at times.

Do we as fans know more than Clode? No, I think this is about just getting fan reactions to what goes on and our own interactions, sharing the experience together as fans of hockey.

You gotta be on some level a pretty hardcore fan to bother to even post on an internet message board. All these discussions are pointless/meaningless to the actual Bruins...but as fans we are passionate and discuss the happenings of the team...that's why we are here right?

I don't think me posting my gripes about Clode or the bruins will ACTUALLY change anything with the team or that I'm some genius hockey mind who knows more than Clode.

I think it's just part of being a really passionate fan. That's why we are here? Share our views and thoughts collectively as fans..share in the triumphs and tribulations.

Following roads to no where will ensure that is exactly where one will arrive. Pharaphrase from an early post: They may not be much but as of today they're all we have until (if/when) that changes. No amount of the glass half empty concerns noted will change that.

There are far worse situations that teams can and will find itself in. Just ask the Leafs when they arrive for tonight's game!

Absolutely. The offense has to pick up at some point, but like you said, the defense will also drop off. And really, it's not the defense dropping off so much as the play in net slipping, since Rask is masking a lot of the issues they have on the back end at this moment.

And this is only if they stand pat. If they go out and get an actual player or two (not the Liles or Stemps of the world either) everything can change.

I get it perfectly fine as a matter of fact. Clearly better than you do.

Go read Post 172, I think it fairly outlines my viewpoint quite well.

Yes, clearly. Obviously.

Here is an excerpt from a post in another thread which captures very well what many of us see from the "fire Julien" crowd:
We're also again falling into the trap of blaming the coach. This team's advanced stats have been excellent this season, which indicates they are playing a sound game. Yes they've gotten great goaltending, but they've also gotten very little from their best player and a few other key offensive players
No one -- repeated for clarity, NO ONE -- is against criticizing the coach! No one!

But there's criticizing the coach and then there's calling for firing him all day, every day, by the same people, over and over and over. He's a good coach, maybe even a great coach. He makes mistakes. He's frustrating, aggravating, maddening. But at the end of the day many if not most of us feel he gets more out of his teams than just about anyone else would. Even the really crappy teams.

So sure, keep calling for his head and finding replacements and praying for his departure. But two things: don't be surprised by the more measured responses from the other side of the fence when you do, and try to keep the frustration level and complaining to a minimum when he is replaced and the team actually does become as bad as folks think it is...but isn't.

Did you even read post 172? Better yet, can you comprehend it?

Because based on this post, the answers to those two questions are no and no.

I guess at the end of the day, it's goes like this. You feel Julien is getting the most he can from this roster, and has also done so with the two previous rosters that have missed the playoffs. I however think this team has talent but it's not being utilized properly. So I don't agree he is getting the most he can out of this group. So let's agree to disagree.

But as far as Julien criticism goes, the vast majority of my comments are well-thought out, even if often folks don't agree. That's OK.

But if things keep going for this team they way they are going, which is they way they have gone pretty much since October 2014, be prepared for more well-thought out criticisms of Julien and suggestions for his removal after 10 years, 2 consecutive playoff DNQs at the helm.

And honestly, if this continued Julien criticism on an internet message board aggravates you and others.......tough *****.

And who's fault is that?

If you don't think the system, scheme, lines, TOI, PP units, PP TOI, etc has anything to do with it, then I can't help you.

This is the problem right here in a nutshell. There's a subset of posters who refuse to even acknowledge Julien's part in why this team is offensively inept. Pasta gets hurt, Riley freaking Nash gets elevated to the top line. Riley Nash. Spooner isn't working on DK's line (while not playing his natural position, but hey it has nothing to do with the coach), so the answer is Tim freaking Schaller. If you don't think Julien is playing a role, then I don't even know what to tell you. The PP blows. No changes. No adjustments. Just rolling the same old ineffective lines out night after night.

The irony is that I've called out plenty of players in this thread alone, yet all you hear is my criticism of Julien. Why is it so hard for you to admit he has a big hand in what's not working, just like quite a few of the core players do? It's sad, really.

I did not read it. Probably can't comprehend it.

NP. It's over-simplified and not entirely accurate but sure, we can agree to disagree.

But if things keep going for this team they way they are going, which is they way they have gone pretty much since October 2014, be prepared for more well-thought out criticisms of Julien and suggestions for his removal after 10 years, 2 consecutive playoff DNQs at the helm.

All I will have to say about that will be good for him. There are so many far more important factors that have played into the failures of the team than his coaching that I am sure he will be far more happy with this decision than the fans on this board.

And honestly, if this continued Julien criticism on an internet message board aggravates you and others.......tough *****.

This right here shows you don't understand my point at all.

What kills me, personally, is how the continual over-assessment/analysis of sport (which is, essentially, a diversion/entertainment) really can suck the joy out of just being a fan. The game itself has become secondary to the "fan's/posters" need to reaffirm their bias and just spend ten minutes sifting through the posts above to confirm this.

Do we measure or own lives in the same manner? How's your job's Corsi % or your Fenwick when it comes to household chores? Is your marriage contract ok now but might look ugly by year 4? Oh, brother.

I drove 17 hours (round trip) on a beautiful June day 5 years ago not because of cap concerns, Jacob's/the GM's/the coaches supposed mismanagement and/or angst over a player we should of drafted but because I am a fan (46 year and counting). Too bad that joy is lost on so many.

I know, I don't have to read/participate in this and that is why I pretty much don't post but I do visit because there is some great info on prospects, the P-Bruins and the parent club that I would not get otherwise. I'm just a fan.

It's ok as a fan to admit that this isn't a very good team. The season is going to be like this all year.

Why not both? Is there only one right way to be a fan? There can even be fun/joy in the analysis.

I'm not so sure. I really do think there are some here who take some type of delight in the losses as long as their analysis can be held up as the reason. In a strange way, they seem to receive more joy posting how Claude/the system/etc. is to blame for the loss, than the joy they get from a win. You only need to observe the disparate number of posts in the PGT after a loss vs. after a win to see that loud and clear. Posters who have nothing to say after a win will post and post till the early hours about their own pet theories as to why they lost. It's all "See, I was right!" instead of "Wow, what a great game!", and that is not only sad, it's rather pathetic, and not what I personally would call a fan of a team. They are actually a fan of being right, which requires the team to lose, a logical fallacy which precludes them being "both".

Sure, you can be a fan anyway you want. I just gave my opinion on how I see the joy being sucked out of this game for me. I guess I was lucky enough to grow up when every shift Esposito took wasn't dissected and debated. We live in an imperfect world and I for one celebrate that.
