Higgins and Raymond don't work in the SO like 4 out of 5 times, though. The Canucks' only natural goalscorer (Daniel) isn't even used in the shootout and for that, they're consistently below .500 after OT.

To win in a skills competition you need skill.
To win in a SO you just need luck, not skill. It's just skating and shooting.

Anyone against Richards by not having Atkinson or even Calvert? I think those 2 would do well if they come in with speed, rather then coming in slowly. Do they practice breakaways during practice? Perhaps Johansen and Brassard does well while other players we would think should get a chance struggle.

Might be the hardest working team in the league, can't win in the skills competition.

It's part of the game, so it sucks losing the point; but it's so stupid, so it's hard for me to get upset.

Another tough game against you guys. As we're probably not going to see each other again until next year, let me just wish you all the best of luck out East moving forward.

Well Richards went back to the pot with Johansen and Calvert in the VAN game after the Wings, I'm not surprised to see him put a new face out there.

I would have picked Calvert over Brassard. Atkinson had a couple of poor attempts, but, ultimately I would like to see him in more SO's. I haven't seen consistently good puck placement from Brassard.

No issue with Johansen or AA.

If you can't get a shot off on a breakaway you are doing it wrong. Just because it worked once doesn't mean he should be out there every time. Every goalie in the league he plays knows his move, have to mix it up to have a chance.

IMO you don't change things up on the SO because of a missed attempt. I have no idea, other that AA, who Richards is going to put out there from SO to SO.

Back from the game.

Wish we had won, but what a fun game to be at. Hawks dominated us for long stretches, but Bob saved our bacon, and Jackets put plenty of pressure of their own on Crawford.

Hey, I will take a 9 game point streak. Beats the alternative.

We may be 0-3-1 against them, but at least they knew they were in games with us.

I think Cam needs to get back out there he didn't score for like 3 attempts in a row earlier on but he can score.

Oh stop.

Great game. Bob was outstanding and he's giving an inferior team a chance to win every night. It's fun to watch, win or lose. I see a different team from what we've seen in several years. We lack skill but we are growing some kahones. That's more important than wins and losses at this point. Keep it up boys.

To get a point each against far superior teams offensively in Van and Chi, it's keeping us in it. No doubt we really could of used 2pts but once we face some teams that aren't as good, we prob get 2 pts. Much needed 2 pts up for grabs this Saturday.

I don't disagree, but it's never seemed like the Jackets have had an established trio. So seeing Brassard was consistent in its way.

Who is blahblahblahblah? The risk of having a differing opinion and voicing is, is that you get insecure people stating you are a "know it all". Since morality wasn't even in play, it makes your statement even less relevant.

Please stick to talking about the game and not make posts directly about me. I would appreciate it.

I am ignoring anything else mfrone has to say this evening in an attempt to avoid escalation. He has the right to his opinion, I have the right to get tired of his constant negativity for anything he perceives as an error by a player. Banning someone forever from the SO, especially someone with the skill of Johansen, because of what he perceives as a bad attempt should be called out. I said my peace and I am done with it.

Now, did you have a specific issue with either of my posts or are you just feeling to need to take pot shots?

True, we are consistently inconsistent with who we throw out there, outside of AA. So, yes, it is Richards MO. Of all the things to complain about, that is probably the least relevant. So I won't harp on Richard too much about it. The other issues I had with him are slowly disappearing.

I missed all but the third period... They played hard and Bob was great again but came up short… It’s really too bad the Jackets can’t seem to get over that hump for two points…

They are earning it but I guess teams can’t be the best checkers in the league and skilled scorers at the same time…

At least they are holding at two points under .500, gotta start getting two points soon for any chance of making the playoffs… Patrick Kane schooled Bob as he has done to many goalies in the shootout, one can't sit back with him, one must be aggressive and go at the puck..

Congratulation’s for setting a new franchise record for points nine games in a row..

Back to work!

looking at the standings im happy to get a point from the 1st place hawks, since they are not battling us for a playoff spot. even though 2 wouldve been ideal im not too mad about getting 1 off the league leaders.

I don't disagree in principle. I think he needs a bit more work before we throw him out there again though. Some of his attempts were really poor. But you are right, in the long run he has one of the best shots on the team.

Oh no, Richards is talking about the players being tired. Let slip the dogs of war.

I always kind of got the feeling we're waiting for some shootout locks to emerge. But yes, it appears the team is really responding to Richards. Hard to deny he's up to some good back there
