It is not THAT they are losing games; it is how they are losing. This was a gutless loss against a defensively porous opponent that played an emotional game last night.

Zero excuse for a performance like this.

This game was lost on the weak ass effort along the boards to lose the puck by our top center that ultimately led to the odd man rush and penalty (which was the 5-3 game over pp)
Trouba got his shit pushed in as well trying not to let the puck get by him

The team has been playing increasingly poorer defensively overall ever since Kakko went down. He may not do anything offensively but there’s no doubt he’s an important part of the team. No K’Andre sucked tonight too.

The story is Igor though. He needs to figure it out this is the second year in a row where he lets a bad goal turn into a bad period into a bad game into a bad 10 games. He really needs a sports psychologist or someone/something to help him with his mindset. He’s falling apart inside of games. Some soft coverage and bad defense but that’s not a deserved 6 goal scored against game.

Someone mentioned in the Igor thread he worked on his mental health this past summer because he was in a bad way last year. I get some folks, including athletes, need to do that, but the elite of elite generally find a way to push through their lows without spending a summer working on their mental health but what do I know

I expected a bad game against Ottawa because of the schedule and travel leading up to that game but I'm honestly shocked about the piss poor efforts and lack of urgency against Washington and Toronto. They do miss Chytil, Kakko, (and Miller tonight) but absolutely need to be better and Shesty needs to get his head out of his ass. Quick is their best goalie right now and it's not even debateable.

I was thinking this is the type of game where they miss Kakko and Chytil.

They’re playing with essentially 2 fourth lines and a top lines that’s doing nothing.

My takeaways...
1.Jones still isn't an nhl defender. There should be no reason for Robertson to not get in the lineup
2.Shesterkin, if he's still injured should sit out, if not he should work with Allaire for a few games and let Quick play
3. We have too many 4th line guys in the lineup. Call up someone with some skill please.
4. Miller even with his warts was sorely missed tonight.

According to the Wolfpack watchers, he's been very spotty at the AHL level.

Ya i think what the Rangers would expect from him vs what Hartford does will fall into his strengths more. A lot of times its hard to sore with the eagles when you're hanging with chickens, maybe he steps up, maybe not. Either way Jones is lost on an nhl ice, one goal he was between the blueline and the net, i don't know what he was doing, and he's physically too weak and not able to get out of traffic like fox does. Schneider hasn't been like he was when he was originally called up either but having Jones with him made it way worse as he was trying to cover both sides of the net

When Jones is in the lineup people say he stinks and he can't defend. When Jones is scratched people say we need him in the lineup because he can move the puck. I'm not sure which one is correct.

He can pass when he has time but folds under pressure imo
