Vesey gets his one Ottawa game every 10-15 games and solidified his spot on first line. Kakko would never get that chance.

Lindgren has as many points as Kakko.

I was almost disappointed when I realized there was a game tonight. It's a bummer to be bored with the season in December. Same lineup tonight? I'd throw the names in a hand, mix the D and forwards and play whatever comes out. Fox-Trouba-Kakko line 1? Go for it.

I'm been a staunch defender of Gallant, but even I'm running out of defense mechanisms.

If Vesey were to EVER touch the top 6, it should have been to wake up the sleeping 11.6 and 6.5 million dollar men, not demote Kakko and Laf after their lines were the top statistical lines we've seen to date and after their playoff run last year. Blame needs to fall on the people who deserve it, not the easy guys to blame.

This game kicks off a scary 5 game stretch of St Louis, Vegas, Toronto, Colorado and NJ. St Louis shouldn't be scary the way they've played, but the Rangers have also lost to Columbus, Chicago, Anaheim, Ottawa and San Jose so I think everyone is scary at this point.

If the season is ever going to turn around, tonight and these next 5 games needs to be the start. If tonight starts with a loss, I'm not sure Gallant makes it through the 4 after... or even gets to them.

This team thrived last year free from Quinns micromanagement, but its clear a more middle ground is needed because they lack the leadership to right the ship themselves.

Hockey is different here. This season the Rangers can make any team look like the 2nd coming of the dynasty Oilers.
