Is hockey the only professional sport where fans randomly use what they think are players “locker room nicknames”? Referring to the sudden burst of “Dunner” comments, for example. I never hear baseball fans call Ohtani “Ohter” or Russel Wilson “Willy”.

What they think they are? Have you never heard an interview where players refer to their teammates by their nicknames? It's not that deep...
