People say every game is a must-win, but I think this one is about the closest we’ve had to one this season. Gotta start climbing out of the hole against a team that is considered some of our competition for a wild card spot.

Half expecting them to lose 5-0 to remind us how far off we are once more to the Pizza Line days.

I feel the same way. If you can't beat another playoff bubble team at home within your own division chances are, you aren't a playoff team. It's December but its still a chance to show how they can play under pressure.

I love the pizza line idea but I'm curious as to why they choose a game against Detroit to bring the line together as opposed to a game against Pittsburgh when Spezza would have been in town.

The Heatley trade request in the summer of 09 was a time to be alive

The subsequent rumours that followed were crazy

Its fascinating to think about how I felt about Heatley's trade demands now versus how I felt back then. I suppose we could have an entire thread on the topic.

How many times, when the home team has some sort of ceremony before the beginning of a game, and then comes out and craps the bed?

The L.A trade for 5th overall (Brayden Schemn) , Penner and Ladisslav as us was the best one

Ullmark gives me hope but not feeling good about the rest.

Not really a believer there’s wins there for this team to claim. but happy to be proven wrong

Uh.... Penner and Smid were on Edm not LA, the trade was Penner, Smid, Cogliano. Not sure if a pick was involved, but Heatley rejected it either way, Edmonton had 10th OA that year (Paarjaarvi)

There was a big L.A. trade run out and it died when the L.A. GM said Heatkey wasn’t the type of player they were looking because he was soft.

Someone should start a thread for nostalgic purposes
I wish I could have the time back that I spent following that drama. Drug on way too long.
I was in high school at the time, i remember checking online every morning to see if anything happened 😂

Ok, but what does that have to do with Penner or Smid?

Was supposed to go to Boston Pizza with my friend to have pizza to celebrate the reunion, but his Red Wings loving ass wants Tacos so we're going to St.Louis Bar & Grill smh

We'll both be wearing our jerseys and may his be stained with tears of defeat by the end of the night

Would've loved to see an AU where we acquired Penner, Smid and Cogs. I was super hyped on Smid and thought he could be another Volchenkov for us
